I have here a lovely Ampeg B100-R Rocket Bass combo. Blue check cloth, silver grille, and very close in sound to the old B-15. Check out the love for this amp over at Talkbass, it's well regarded, and will suit you down to the ground if you play Motown/Funk/Soul. This is one of the original built in USA models before they shifted manufacture over to the far east. Good condition, no issues. [s]Yours for £300.[/s] SOLD! Definitely no postage due to the weight and lack of suitable boxes, but you can pick up from Croydon or I can deliver to within a reasonable distance. I will also be travelling down to Poole for the weekend around the 5th of May and often drive up to Cambridgeshire, so anywhere around those areas could be within my reach also. The only trades I am interested in are:

Barefaced Midget
Genz Benz Streamliner
GK MB Fusion
Ashdown MiBass

Head now gone, cab should be gone tomorrow! Time to let this big boy go. I'm no longer in a band, and if I go to jam with some friends I just take the Promethean combo which is much easier to carry! I bought the head around a year ago, and in that time just used it for two gigs and low volume bedroom practice. I believe the guy I got it from bought it new and hardly used it either, therefore it's still in very good condition and looks like new apart from a little scrape of the tolex underneath where you won't be looking anyway. Comes with a surprisingly useful home-made cover made out of a thin stiff foam and gaffer tape! The cab is a Matamp sealed 2x12 with ceramic Eminence Delta 12A drivers in matching orange colour made to the exact same width as the Orange head. No Matamp badge on the front, just a label on the back, and it has a black grille cloth. Also comes with a Roqsolid cover. Cab details: 55cm wide x 36cm deep x 70cm high For those of you that haven't caught up to metric units, that is 21.5" wide x 14.2" deep X 27.5" high. Weighs around 35kg / 77lbs! I've tried a few things to create a foam mute for my P-Bass in the past, but have recently ordered a couple of odd looking objects from eBay as experiments! Hair Bun Maker: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230729571087 I just received this one today and it works a treat! The foam just fits under the bridge barely touching the strings, but since it has a metal strip running through it, it's easy to bend it into a slight arc to get just the right pressure under each string. I also ordered one of these aquarium filters: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170811180838 Judging by eye, the 20mm pipe diameter looks roughly the same as the distance between the ribs of the sponge cylinder, which is roughly that of the string spacing at the bridge. I'll cut it into segments and see how I get on!

Schecter Diamond P Custom 5 String "Like" New (400 Pounds)

I've been thinking of getting a baritone to play with too. Not sure whether to go for a bass VI style E-to-E like the Schecter Hellcat VI, or the more common B-to-B baritones like the Jaguar/Les Paul/Danelectro models...

A white BB1025X went unsold on eBay earlier on for a starting bid of £500 - I would have bid but I really want a black one!

I preferred some of the grittier amp sims of the B2, none of the B3 ones really float my boat except for the B15 which cops a good Motown sound. Pretty much every other effect is miles better on the B3 and there are individual blend controls for the effects, the entire patch, as well as a separate master blend. The filters and compressors are particularly good which is something tat let the B2 down also. Anyway, this is now sold!

Cor, might have set a selling time record on here! It's a great unit Kev, but I've found that I only really use overdrive/distortion/fuzz on bass, which I already have covered in other pedals. Most of the fx are excellent, but I don't need them. It is a bargain though considering you get a drum machine, looper, tuner, audio interface, etc all thrown in too.

Boss HM-2 for sale, one of the older Taiwanese versions that takes the ACA power supply. This means it takes a 12v power supply, unless you are using it on a daisy chain with other 9v pedals when electrical voodoo happens to allow the pedal to be fully powered at 9v. It's in pretty good condition for it's age, just a couple of small scratches and it comes with it's original box. I don't have time to sort out a pic right now but will do so later on. These are quite sought after and getting harder to find one that hasn't been trashed these days! £45 posted. SOLD

I bought one of these 'Muflers', I don't recommend them as they damp the strings far too much. I might try squashing it under something heavy for a while to reduce its size!
-
Perfect (for me), somewhere inbetween an P and a J. The 5-stringers are very easy to play due to the narrow nut, perfect if you've ever been put off by other 5'ers in the past.

Nice score. Never heard of Wilkes, but it has Schaller tuners and maybe even DiMarzio pickups in it so well worth £25!
-
You can easily mod the Bass Muff to give you more control of the wet/dry blend if that's the sound you want - it sure is smooth, and also rather cheap. The new MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe may be worth a look also, it's a Tonebender type fuzz with separate wet/dry volume controls.
-
I have a matching '79 T-40 too! My favourite sounds out of it are both pickups with everything at 10, played hard, with a pick, into a tube amp or overdrive pedal. Also the same setting but rolling off the tone a tad at the bridge to fatten it up. Another good tip is that if you want to solo the bridge pickup, I believe flipping the phase switch will end up using the single coil further from the bridge which sounds a bit meatier.

I wonder what would be the better outcome - spend an extra £140 for an Epi T-Bird with Gibson USA pups, or buy the regular one plus a set of upgraded pups...

I have severe GAS for a BB2025X. Sean, did you get a chance to compare to the BB1025X/BB1024X range?

I think it might be speakon only like the head, but I sold mine a long time ago so don't count on me!
