  2. hi thanks for the replies its a very slight bow but obviously affects the setup will overtighten strings and leave it for a while cant do any harm and nothing to lose cheers
  3. i have a hohner b2a bass which i have had for a while and have tried setting it up but it appears to have a slight backward bend in the neck ?the truss rod works but as this is for forward bows in the neck is of no use! i also have a hohner jack which i set up no probs from that ,is there anything i can do to fix it as now i have the jack i would like to sell the b2a but dont want to palm a dodgy bass off to anyone

  5. i had a thunder 1a years ago i couldnt get on with actives then but i use a compressor nowadays so actives are no problem also had a dynasty bass rock on !!!!!!!!!!
  6. i used to own an old selmer valve pa amp i used for rehearsals years ago didnt think much of it, but when i listened back to some tapes of the rehearsals it sounded awesome! since then the only amp that i still really like is my old trace elliot ah300smx

  8. i would put it down to a lesson learned and cut your losses ive had very similar things happen to me on ebay its sad to say but some people are just idiots i got sent a bass in a bin bag luckily it was blatantly obvious to the parcel blokes who obviously took care of it as it arrived in one piece but ive had people buy guitars off me then say oh i dont want it know ive bought something else!and i wasnt allowed as the seller to leave him bad feedback?

  14. yeah thats what i was thinking the trussrod is unusable as it will only fix a forward bow
  15. hi i have a couple of necks with issues and a hohner b2a with a neck problem also the hohner has a backward bend and as the trussrod only is only effective on a forward bow im unsure what i can do with it this problem also effects one of my necks i bought from america for a p bass project the neck is brand new but has a backward bow and lastly i have a sunn mustang bass neck which i really wanted to fit to a body i had around but it appears the truss rod thread is stripped so basically what im asking is are these repairable or should i scrap them cheers for any advice
  16. my first bass was a marlin sidewinder aquired in about 1985 complete with bowed neck and crap sound
  17. im a fender precision devotee but i had a p bass lyte and i couldnt really get on with it
  18. you know what happened last time so if it happens further down the line it wont be as bad a blow to you and you get to play with a good guitarist get some local exposure and gigs under your belt and if it dont work out hide under the bed and dont answer there calls

  22. i use t-cut on mine for light scratches dont know about heavier ones though
