1. Hey guys! I can vouch for Wilcock, myself and Fretless Bob have helped him (it's a one man operation) develop his models to what they are now. He does have a clear idea of what he wants, so things like different pickup combinations don't really happen, but, he enjoy's working with people on their ideas. Also, he's trying out the B90 pickup in a new Wilcock bass. I'm looking forward to that...

6. Hey guys! Up for grabs is my Fender American Standard Jazz Bass V string. Its a great instrument that's served me very well. It's well used having gone around the world with me so used but not abused. It is not mint condition and has dints and marks all over it. It has always been professionally looked after. I'll be sad to see it go but something i've always wanted has come up for sale! £690 OVNO. Also open to any 5 strings you have to trade! I'm based in London but can meet anywhere between here and Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire Here are some pictures; http://s1064.photobucket.com/user/Rich_Zbaraski/library/?sort=3&page=1 Rich

8. No, but that is a very similar bass! This one is a very dark finish. I remember seeing that one on the bay. Hmmmm, my instinct says no. So perhaps i'll leave it!
9. Ok, maybe I should've given a back story of some sort! It's being sold to me by a family friend whom the family in question have had the bass for well over 30 years. There's even pictures before and after the 80's refinish. I've used my own personal pre-cbs fender's as reference and what is supposedly original and left on the bass checks out. The reason I'm getting it for £800 is because of "mates rates" and the fact that £800 is still a lot of money to him. Trust me, it's just a somewhat abused 63 jazz. The refinish is a varnish over the headstock and body thats why there's no logo and the neck has been completely sanded down. However, IT IS a 63 jazz bass! What I want to do is basically restore it to its former glory. It was olympic white with matching headstock so thats why I want to refinish it in that! The plan is to fix it up and sell it on as the instrument it should be, I was just wondering if i'd be wasting my time, effort and money doing this as i've always had trouble giving a value to completely refinished vintage guitars! Rich
10. So, I may have the opportunity to buy a 1963 Fender Jazz bass for £800! Crazy right?! Reason is, is that it really needs a refinish and the markings on the neck have been sanded off swell as the logo (ugly red varnish refinish) though the markings are still on the neck plate and majority of the hardware is original. My question is, refinished in OLY white with a matching headstock, how much do think this will be worth? I've seen a unoriginal refinished 63 jazz bass go for around £2,750 but I can't be sure Sorry if this is violating any rules! rich

12.
No. It was the P Bass played with fingers. Honestly, it was.
Haha, ok then.
13. Would it help if I said it was just plugged into a standard focusrite pre amp set flat? Probably not ..... Though I did try the 73 precision, the sounds was very different. Less natural low and high end. The MIM jazz was the best sounding set flat. The only difference was the high end boosted a little and in the chorus it was doubled with a sansamp overdrive on the audiosuite of pro tools. The best place to pick up the bass tone is the bridge. Thats when its clearest!
