1. That Genz cab is 4 ohms - you cant add another cab to the ABM if it doesnt have enough ooomph for you. How about a Gallien Krueger 212MBE from Thomanns for £200?
2. I bought one of the GAK Zoom B9 units so its surplus to requirements now Cheers The Pup
3. A few marks from gigging and missing a knob but works perfectly £40 posted NOW SOLD

5. I'm loving it. Cant believe it was just 100 sniffs. Been modding patches and getting everything in the first couple of user banks on the headphones tonight and it sounds great. Used it at last nights rehearsal without much time to get used to it and it seemed pretty straightforward. Compressors seems pretty good and its not particularly noisy. Loads of mad stuff i'll never use on it but the core sounds seem pretty good. Like the Aguilar and Gallien for rocky stuff and the Pops preset is nice and fat for slower stuff. First outing properly on Saturday at The Crown in Egham,Surrey if anyones over that way.
6.
Hi everyone, In the new year GAK are expanding their bass department. We're looking to get on board with a handful more high-end brands. I would be very grateful for your opinions on what high-end brands you would like to see hanging on our walls. Thanks very much team. Joe.
Hey Joe Agree with the Sandberg suggestion and how about Spector? On another note - i just picked up one of your Zoom B9 bargains (excellent bit of kit BTW and great service from yourselves) and now need something to cart it about in. Any suggestions for a bag/case that it'll fit in?
7. Used mine last night at rehearsal - sounds fantastic. Just got to start all the tweaking now. I am gonna need some sort of case/bag thingy to put it in - anyone got any good sugestions?

Spectors?!

2nd hand Rebop in Bass Direct at the mo'. Bolt on Euro essentially with passive pickups and the proper TonePump.Proper carved body. Just up the road from you. Worth a try. Theres also one in the Bass Gallery in London.
9. Listen to the first Blue Murder album - theres some great playing by Tony Franklin on there.
10. Ditto! All the above applied when Gary bought my Elixirs. Thanks for an easy transaction and enjoy the strings. Jon

12. GK 212MBE cab from Thomann - just over £200 recently. Also in 4 ohm if you want full power.

14. I recently went thru a similar GAS scenario. Play a Spector Euro normally in a rocky punky covers band (Foos', Clash, Leon, Pistols sort of stuff) and thought i needed something a bit more traditional and precisiony sounding to suit the mix a bit better. Decided i would need some sort of Precision bass. Sat in PMT Romford for 2 hrs a few weeks ago (thanks Bob for your patience!) trying all sorts of Fender/Squier/Precision/Jazzy type basses from £200 to £800. The Squier CV's were almost there and i quite liked a Modern Player Jazz too. The MIM Precisions were ok but didnt feel they were hundreds of pounds better than the CV's. The one that was absolutely head and shoulders better than all of them was a Yamaha BB424X. I wasnt even going to try it because i was sure i needed a Fender of some sort but i'm bloody glad i did. Bought it on the spot and the guys in the band can,t believe how good it sounds for a £400 bass. It has a real resonance about it, the p pickup is pure grunty precision and the j pickup has a real honk to it. Mix the two and you have massive punch. The only downs so far are that the fret ends are a little sharp but thats easily sorted. Neck is somewhere inbetween a jazz and precision feel. Has a bit of meat about it but easy to grab hold of and hammer away on. Try one if you can.
15. Anyone want these? Elixir stainless, taken off after a month. Couldnt get on with them. You need a 2 a side headstock - wont fit a Fender style. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/190079-fs-%3B-elixir-stainless-bass-string-set-l17-taken-off-a-spector-euro-after-1-months-use/page__fromsearch__1 Ped, i owe you a favour re a Peavey footswitch from a while ago. PM me if they'll fit your bass.
16.
You might want to consider this BG500 combo, easily loud enough http://basschat.co.uk/topic/189242-two-amps-for-sale-trace-elliot-and-tc-electronic/
This TC above is an excellent combo. Loads of features - tuner, presets, tubedrive, compressor, aux in and headphone out for practicing. Bargain at 250 sniffs. Had the 15" version for a while but reckon the 210 would sound tighter and punchier. The 15 was a bit wallowy for my taste.
17. +1 for The Bass Gallery, Royal College St, Camden.
