That's a good price mate - I bought another batch the other week and the cheapest I could find was £4.40 per jack and, IIRC, about a fiver for 1 metre of cable.

Kind of reluctant trade. Seriously love this pedal but I'm in a metal band and can no longer bring the funk. I've had it about 3 years and its been modded to include a return / send switch (done by Martin Owen). Here's a link http://martoneaudio.com/meatwad.htm There's some great bass samples on there which shows what this can do. It really is a gem of a filter pedal and is a clone of the Lovetone Meatball pedal. I think I'd rather trade this on than let it continue to gather dust. If I need another one I can get one in the future. It's in good condition with the odd chip on the paintwork. I'll post pics over the weekend. Tradewise, hmmm, not sure really. Either a really good comp or ideally a synth and preferably an original EHX bass synth with the true bypass mod - although I'd take one without - as long as its in good condition and with power supply. I'm away until sunday so will not be able to reply to posts after 5pm today. thanks

If I'm learning something which is technically beyond me and tough to play I don't tend to get frustrated to be honest. The times when I get frustrated are when I'm learning something new that I should be able to play but cock it up time after time, I think that may be more of a memory issue however.

Not sure what you guys think but this is the only Barefaced cab I prefer with the black grill rather than the silver cloth. Looks brill.

Dead jealous man! Mine should be ready soon - and i've nearly got the rest of the payment together. Really, really can't wait! Have fun!

My mate got a stealth one several years ago. Sounded fantastic and had a lovely feel to the neck as well. Seriously powerful tone and a quality eq. I was tempted to get one myself but wasn't sold 100% on the looks of it - love the headstock but not the body. If I had sh*t loads of cash and could afford a whole herd of basses I'd deffo have one.
-
I've had mine for a couple of years and its still on my pedal board although I have dabbled with the idea of selling it a couple of times. It just does a lot of things really, really well. Its deffo not as good as the better / boutique individual stomp boxes but its still pretty good. I'd have to replace mine with at least another 6 quality pedals if I considered replacing it - and then I wouldn't be able to fit them all on my board. Just read your list of pedals that you have - you may need to keep you wah - not sure about guitar but the M9 wah's are pretty poor on bass. imo of course.
-
Whilst I totally love the bad ass aesthetics of an 8x10 there's just no way on earth I'd have one - too much like hard work and there are so many great sounding and infinately more portable options available to bass players nowadays. Soundwise and apart from height - can an 8x10 really give you anything not available in a more portable option? I doubt it.
-
That looks like chaos but I bet ya it sounds brill! I've tried a probe wah - you must be blending a clean signal with it?
-
Are you sure you need blendable? Fuzz ok but overdrive - really?

What kind of acts get up to play? is it open mike 'acousticcy' stuff or regular bands?

I don't remove the rubber backing from my Boss pedals. I just cut thin strips of velcro and lined it. Works fine for me although I remember reading that some people clean the rubber with white spirit / 100% alcohol to ensure a good grip.

Thats precisely why I've ordered a Barefaced Super 12T - should be great in both circumstances. I really couldn't chance turning up to a big venue with just a DI - just incase the sound engineer is crap or the monitors are crap - I'd hate to not hear myself play. At least your rig, whatever the size, can be used as a monitor.

I can't access those links in work but stumbled across another you tube demo over the weekend. I don't really need this pedal, I can't afford this pedal, but it sounds amazing and I want it baaaaad!

I've had both and hated the IQ. I've used a couple of other filter pedals since then and both were far superior imo - the EHX Q-tron being one of them, Meatwad being the other. I've had an EBS Wah One for about 4 years and I still like it. Pros are that if you feed a bit of dirt into it it sounds awesome and funky, its quite tweakable and you can get quite dubby sounds out of it. It also doubles as a volume pedal. Cons are that the early versions (which mine is) had a very dodgy switch. Mine went 3 times before EBS sent me the new switch they were using and I haven't had any problems since. The early versions are not true bypass but the buffer is pretty good and doesn't unduly suck tone.

Using tube comp on the M9 at the minute. Did have a multicomp which I love and am considering whether to buy another one - great pedal! Wouldn't mind taking a compressore for a test run as well!

I think a magnet strong enough to hold pedals down - and not let them move around in transit - would weigh a tonne.
I use my active through it no problems but if it is running too hot you could always change the valves
Changing the valves - of course!
I love everything about this amp apart from how it plays with active basses. With mine, I get a lot of honk and even more boom from it. When I use my passive bass though, I get a nice big round sound that I was expecting from this amp.
Anyone else experience this issue with active basses? I have a hot 18v active bass and this could be a deal breaker for me.

Advice needed: which Envelope Filter and Phaser?
burno70 replied to Old Horse Murphy's topic in Effects
For ease of use and a quality sound I couldn't recomment an EHX Q-Tron highly enough. Its really straght forward, is easy to get a good sound out of and is very cheap. On the down side it takes its own PSU and is a large pedal. If this didn't bother you thats what I'd go for. The EXH nano stone phaser is cheap - has 1 knob, so couldn't be easier to use. -
I'm a one tone kind of guy - so if the tone of the OTB suits me it could be really sweet!
-
I want one - never had a tube amp before and would love to give one of these a go. In between cabs at the mo. Once thats sorted I might pull the plug. I really like the demo's I've seen of it. Also like the idea of swapping the valves.

Because Jaco could do what he wanted to do on a Jazz and had great tone - if its not broken why fix it? I haven't read any full Jeff Berlin interviews only the snippets that get on here and TB which can be controversial. My only real experience of him was at Bass Day a few years back and I thought he was awesome - both playing and the way he come across to the audience.
