1.
unfortunately dont have the manual for this bad boy but i think its downloadable, its easy to use anyhow if you use your ears, kind of like a multiband compressor
I'll take it of your hands! please pm me your PayPal account.
2.
If its being used as a limiter then it shouldn't actually change the sound - it should only stop the volume from going beyond a certain level. Depending on where the threshold is set and how strong your signal is them you might not actually be triggering the limiter, in which case it will be doing nothing at all. Limiters can be quite disappointing at first until you work out what exactly they do and if they can enhance your sound at all. You may even find that you don't need one. The enhancer part will change the sound like a fancy tone control (it's usually there to put back any tone that the limiting effect removes from the sound) There's a sticky about compressors/limters here. Have a look through this and see if it helps any.
Have to say that I have read around 20 articles about compression and all of them always have left me with more confusion but for the first time in I don't know how many years someone writes an article about the subject that : 1) It is written for the average Joe, plain and simple 2) Straight to the point and again written in a language that anyone will understand. Thanks BOD2 for this piece of good article I'm eternally grateful.
3. Hey how do those Artec SE2A sound? I'm really tempted to buy one for a project I putting together.
4. Bought a Black & Decker in Focus for £18 that includes the iron and a station with croc arms very useful for fixing whatever you want to solder.
5. Silverfoxnik said she was almost too classy for pop and I correct "She is too classy for pop" you don't hear singers like her anymore. Paul Spencer Denman the man that made me fall in love with bass back in the 80's ... God bless him and his family.
6.
Why is a metronome seen as such a devil of evil by some? Ask not what your metronome can do for you; ask what you can do for your metronome! - I mean, learn to use it to your advantage. Don't let it control you, but assist in your playing/practicing whatever.
Dood you just nailed it! and to your surprise that is exactly what Berlin is trying to say. I've read lots of post in different forums and to me seems like people don't stop to think very often and go ballistic when their beliefs are put into question (i.e. Talkbass, religion, etc.). I had a very long and winded chat with Mr. Berlin a couple of years ago and asked him about his views and his answer was: "Metronomes are meant to help you learn to subdivide notes, not keeping time!" and you know what? I agree. Another view is that you should learn the piece of music first and then practice it with a metronome afterwards, because a metronome can slow you down in the process of learning the lesson. I totally agree and if you don believe me just check with classical musicians, they can play without a metronome. I asked that to my cousin (She plays cello in my country's youth orchestra) and she absolutely can't that is why you see that penguin waving his/her mum. That takes me to a couple of months ago, I went to see a mates band playing and to my surprise the drummer was playing with headphones, after a while and noticing that after every song he would fiddle with some mysterious black box next to him, I can to the conclusion that he was playing to a click track. I brought the comment to my mate and after a good thought he asked him to stop using it, to make the story shorter I saw then last week and the dynamics was flowing like a river. I don't think metronomes are the worship of the devil but I think they should be used as a tool and not become a slave of them. That is basically what Jeff is trying to say and is exactly what he told me. He is a very old school guy and when he is teaching he just gives you input for you to go home and think about nothing more. Regarding his music, yes I agree that his latest material is not a great deal but to dismiss him is not only insulting but been a complete ignorant, just listen to his work with alan Holdsworth and Brufford and you'll find the real Jeff.

9. Hi guys, Here is another B2 for sale, I recently upgraded to the B2.1.u from another Basschatter and now this baby has to go. It is in "Mint" condition and hasn't been gigged, is only been used for home practicing as a headphone amp. Still have the box and manuals. The price is £30 posted. Reduced price Notice: it doesn't come with the PSU but you can get one from from any Argos. the one I was using belongs to a mate. SOLD !!!!!
10. I bought my Ashdown amp from Thomann and still the price was cheaper than rip off Britain and I didn't get extra charged. So As Jean Luc point out depends on your company.
11. I think your best bet would be among: - Yamaha BB414 (For the money maybe the best bass, but I hate that switch instead of another volume) - OLP (I was quite impressed with the one I played, it was the new ones BTW) - Ibanez GSR200 (For the money another great bass) I think I've narrowed it a bit for you.
12. Anyone interested in this piece of computer history, will be interested in downloading the Ubuntu Medibuntu distro too, it comes with the low latency kernel and coupled with the always reliable Soundblaster can make a cheap and effective recording station. The distro comes complete with anything you could possibly use for recording purposes: - Hydrogen (Drum Machine) - Ardour recording station (The closest thing to Protools I've found) - Audacity - Jack kit (The Jack connectivity program) - Rosegarden (Midi recording station) And much more, so don't let CK take this unique piece to the tip and get yourself a spanking new recording studio. Ok CK where's my cheque?
13. Sorry chaps looks like that link it's been closed by Soundclick. Check this one from Zoom. The samples were made using the B2 http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/download/dem...mo_b2series.php
14. This chap went the whole mile and recorded samples of every single effect and amp modeling in the B2. There you go, enjoy! http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=584265
