Rivera-era built/designed go for about US$600-800 in the states. Here it's a bit higher (probably the same number in £) as they're not as common. The Rivera amps aren't perfect (the speakers are often upgraded) but it was a golden age for Fender amps. Let me know if you change your mind about buying it.

When was it built?

I use Armstrong PIckups and they custom wind. They also have massive experience in making for other manufacturers so if you are seeking a specific pickup they'll know how to replicate it.
Checking out my phone bill on the Talk Talk website and happen to look at the "news" page; it turns out Prince William plays bass.
He would be the ultimate bedroom player. It's not like he'll be out gigging pubs or doing weddings on a weekend. If anything it's a bit sad that he'll never be able to play regular gigs without the protection squad in tow. Would love to know why he took bass up.

Compressors with bass, is it really that necessary?
Kiwi replied to RustInPeace90's topic in Effects
Matter of taste. Some basses compress the highs because of the woods used e.g. Warwick Thumb. Others don't. If you decide that you need compression then you can attempt to add a valve somewhere along the signal chain for the lightest of touches e.g. Avalon U5 DI. Or use a compressor. Then there's the decision about how much compression and which band - e.g. Trace Elliot Dual Comp or EBS Hexacomp. And then, if you decide to go full comp of all bandwidth, some do it more attractively than others... Get out there and see what works for you. Sometimes a multi effects unit like the Zoom B3 can give a flavour of what to expect. -

Jewish wedding tunes. Mind numbingly tedious root fifthing.
Zombie thread time Any updates?
I had discussed going over to Jon's at the end of this month assuming I had my car back by then...which I don't...and then plans for my wedding in China took over but consequently moved on only to be replaced by a huge public consultation event at work...the wedding is now planned for September. To be frank, I've given up struggling against my circumstances at the moment...but whenever I do it, I'd like to drive up and give the car a decent fizzing on the way. Driving through the Peak District is pretty amazing.
I remember this beautiful thing!
Did you see it hanging up?

Perhaps some people would like to believe that, as a measure of quality, the specs are a substitute for being able to hear the cabs. I believe there's a happy balance between technical efficiency and "character" but we all have to find out what that is for ourselves. Claber is on top of that with the try out offer he has for his Barefaced cabs. We went down the same road on here with graphite necks a number of years ago. Composite necks are very efficient at transferring energy but not all graphite necks sound the same...ironically they tend to sound better if they have a little bit of give in them...in my experience. But not too much.

TC Group bought by Behringer (including TC Electronic)

So...Mark King's now playing a 'Behringer'. Who'd have thought...? -

I've gone back to DI.FM No control over the play lists but the music is still good.
I think you can tell from the astonishing success of the Westone Rail and the Gibson Grabber just how much this feature has caught the imagination of bassists the world over.
Quite a few manufacturers have had a go. Alembic did it back in the early 70's, Spalt have a sliding pickup and Bob Daisley developed a bass with sliding individual coils per string.

Is there any lip synching?

They were my preferred music provider - they had lots of great ambient, house and funk tracks and helped me discover music from Rykksopp, Tycho and Grant Edwards. But I never knew they were unlicensed.
