1. I need to buy a new amp and cab since my Marshall lost the will to live the other day, and I've decided on an Orange Bass Terror 500 http://www.gak.co.uk/en/gallien-krueger-410mbe-800-watt-4x10-bass-speaker-cabinet-(4-ohm/66801 And this GK cab: http://www.gak.co.uk/en/gallien-krueger-410mbe-800-watt-4x10-bass-speaker-cabinet-(4-ohm/66801 Quite a lightweight combination which will be a nice change from lugging my big heavy Marshall about. I don't know anything about amps and cabs, watts and ohms etc. and reading into it just confused me even more so I thought I'd see if you lot could help me out. Basically what I'm asking is is it safe to use these together, and will I be getting the most out of the head putting it through that cab? Cheers
 2.
I would nominate my squire vintage modified precision, a white / black/ rosewood one made in Indonesia I paid £80 on eBay as a parts/not working item. It took about 30 mins to fix the issue and clean it up. It was absolutely f£&)ing superb
Exactly the same one I have, I had no idea how good it was until I played a few other basses
 3. It's still there, and someone just bought the nice Fireglo Rickenbacker they had in there too. Now I can't go in anymore and annoy the staff by asking for a go, Inconsiderate b*****d. Maybe it was the bloke who was playing on it with me a few weeks ago? If it was and you're reading this, I'll give you fifty quid and a half eaten packet of Quavers for it
 4. I use my middle finger to hit the note you're barring, if it works for you then why wouldn't it be acceptable?
 5. Not quite in the same league as yours, but my Squier Vintage Modified precision (£270) is as good as the Fender (£480) I bought as an upgrade. Maybe I got a dud?
 6. Edit: Double post sorry
 7.
I have GHS Pressurewounds on my P bass, and they are a great mix of flat and round.
I have them on my PJ, they're really good strings
 8. That's cool, it reminded me of "Don't Stop" by the Stone Roses
 9.
I'm rehearsing regularly ATM (2 new members, and some new material) and thoroughly enjoying it. Am I just in a band, or am I actually in a band?
You're in a band
 10. Ah, I see he has one of those "electric amps." They can get quite noisy compared to a steam powered one.
 11. Well, this is to me
 12.
Satan? Nah, you need to read your bible again. I created everything. The good stuff is your reward, the bad stuff is a test of your faith. See, i'm a good person
Thanks for chocolate fingers and KFC, you did a good job there
 13.
Should've gone to Generic high street opticians.
I did, and they sorted me out with some overpriced glasses and "monthly" contact lenses that become dust magnets after three days
 14.
Ha! I kind of guessed where you lived by the part that says "North Wales" under your avatar
I didn't even notice that

 16.
I have the same problem with flats / groundwounds, they're just too smooth. You could try Rotosound Solo Bass, they're pressure wound which means they're much smoother than roundwound but not completely smooth which make slides a bit more comfortable. Trouble is they lose their brightness pretty quickly in my experience.
My GHS pressurewounds don't stay bright very long either, usually only for a week or so. What are the Rotosounds like?
 17.
Yes, but i've never told a welsh person before that it's called Fadge. And you're also on the mainland
I live on the Isle of Man Okay no I don't.
 18.
Yes... That's true... English people laugh... It must mean something different on the mainland
I'm Welsh
 19. I thought my amp was broken too last week in rehearsal when it kept cutting out "F***ing Marshall crap breaking twice in one f***ing year, f***'s sake, piece of f***ing s**t. Oh hang on my lead is dodgy" Next time I'll check everything before assuming the worst

 23.
Well, it's this bread, only it's made with potatoes. You fry it, and it's lovely with an egg and some bacon.
Interesting, where can I find this spud loaf?
 24. What's potato bread?
