I'm quite excited by this, looks like it takes the best parts of the two and improves on them. The addition of switchable drive, a compressor and a tuner means this could conceivably replace half my pedalboard. I may well have a Microbass II for sale soon.....

Very much a game of two halves last night, decent sized crowd at a pub but in the first half got absolutely nothing back from them, they just stood watching in silence. Then, second half, more booze in them and us playing Sweet Caroline, it's like a different audience have walked in, much more fun. The singer was having some feedback issues, but it wasn't until the end of the set I realised I could surreptitiously turn the gain down on his mic from the XAir app on my phone when he wasn't looking; I'll keep that in mind for the future.....

Metallica - Hardwired...To Self Destruct First time I've listened to it since it was released.....still rubbish 😞

Bathory - Under The Sign Of The Black Mark The evil sound of this record is amazing, it's a landmark album in the evolution of black metal

Has anyone used a Spectracomp and an EBS Multicomp? How do they compare?

Not everything about the bass is great .....

That's a shame, London's Burning is one of their best -

Same here -
Thought it would be, it seems near on impossible to find a 35" 5 string P bass - these look brilliant though 😀

Those are a bit schmexy, what is the scale length?

Playing Champagne Supernova bores me rigid......but.....as the last song of the night it usually evokes a mass sing-along and goes down really well, making it much more bearable. -

You know, I nearly checked, but then just ploughed on anyway -

I like The Cardigans - First Band On The Moon and Grand Tuerneo are both good albums. I also like the ethos behind the band which was essentially four metal musicians decide to write pop songs and recruit an art school student who's not sung before to front it. Sounds daft, but somehow works -
Arrgghh, my eyes, why would you post that?

The Richard Bona one looks interesting, but I doubt they'll sell many. As for the other one, whilst I'm sure it'll be the more popular of the two, it's another entry into a saturated market, what are they offering that no-one else is? And is there a market for that? I've not seen many people callijg out for a P bass shape with J electronics. I can't much see the logic in MB expanding into the instrument market and suspect most of the people playing them will be endorsees.

Last night we did a Sunday evening (19:30 - 21:30) gig at a pub in Crawley. It was pretty quiet - to the point of almost being a paid rehearsal, but as it was paid and an early finish, there's not too much to complain about. Second time out with IEM and they worked really well, made the singer happy too as it's one fewer wedge to bring into the venue. Also, GAS is stupid, I'd spent most of the week convincing myself I wanted a five string Precision but when I plugged in my DJ5 (even though it has strings like a Norweigan Blue) and tweaked the pre-amp/DI a bit, the tone I wanted was right there. Isn't it funny how GAS strikes when my mind is wandering at work rather than when I'm actually playing......🤪

Obscura are touring over here next month and have First Fragment supporting. The bassist in First Fragment is Forest who played on the first Beyond Creation album and is also in Augury, so lots of fretless action there. London is the nearest for me, may have to wait and see how the kids are being closer to the date

I'm listening to Genius Of Modern Music 1 now, it's astonishing that these were his first compositions
-
That'd be my guess, the only thing that's changed when the drummer starts playing is an increase in the amount of vibrations in the room

Any Thelonious Monk reccomendations? Just listened to the first album that was on Spotify (Monk) which was great, but with 53 studio albums and about 30 compilations to pick from on Spotify, it's hard to know where to start.

I love the font on the headstock

Thought I'd give this one a try, holy moly what a record, just superb - I'm totally captivated. One thing I'm finding very interesting is the influence I can hear it's had - directly or indirectly - on some of the heavy music I typically listen to.

Cheers 😀

I've been looking at external routers for XR16, from what I've found on Google, dual band 5ghz seems to be the way to go (I'm not very clued up on IT matters though) Would this be a good bet? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06X1CHFJ5/ref=asc_df_B06X1CHFJ557903292/?tag=googshopuk-21&creative=22122&creativeASIN=B06X1CHFJ5&linkCode=df0&hvadid=205210909091&hvpos=1o2&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4223867372370295799&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006692&hvtargid=aud-543776533562%3Apla-405706062384&th=1&psc=1 Whilst the singer will be pleased to sort out the wireless issues, he wont want to spend a lot of money, as his microphones were nicked at Saturday's gig 😠

You are Will Smith and I claim my five pounds 😂

Oh yeah, I'm definitely sticking with it, I'm the only one in the band so far who'd purely on DI/IEM at the moment, but I'm gently nudging the others in that direction, when we're in anything bigger than a pub corner we normally have the guitar cab miced, but I'm showing the guitarist things like the Joyo cab box to pair with his Marshall rack pre as silent solution. Fortunately, we hit our sales target at work for 2018 so it's bonus season! I've been looking at the UE options, looks like (negotiations with the wife pending) that UE11s are in budget - worth spending the extra over the UE6s?
