My daughter got herself an Ibanez bass (not sure of the model) with a hardcase for £100. Total bargain, I've set it up for her and would happily gig it.

We'll leave the nut alone then Discreet

I allow between 1.5-2 hours, which might seem like a long time but it's not something to be rushed. Also, I almost always end up masking the entire fret board, prior to any cleaning /polishing of frets.

I normally charge £35 for a set up. Typically this will include adjustments to the nut slots, truss rod and string height. Lubricant where required. A thorough clean. Fret polish and board treatment. Strings not included in the price.

Haven't seen one of those in a while Nick. Nice one, enjoy

He should be put overboard for that crime 😡

I've not regretted my purchase of the Mono Sleeve and will be getting another for my back up bass, in the not too distant.

That looks very lovely Harry

Pick Up change...Recommendation please!

Like Dom in Somerset, I'm really impressed with Entwistle. I've fitted them in to customer's instruments and my own. Don't be put off by the low price, they really are up there with some of the much more expensive pick ups that I've tried. -

Can't recall how long I have had my Comfort Strapp but I do remember getting it from the Wapping Bass Centre, probably twenty years back. Since then it has done every rehearsal and gig with me and still shows no signs of wear.

Think that you're talking about the ground from the bridge.

Wow, that's a looker

This is a truly superb example of a P bass. Great build quality and weighing in at a very shoulder friendly 8lb 12oz. All original and everything functions perfectly. The finish is lovely, just a few dings and the paint job is still vivid. Pickguard is not buckled, just the very common crack adjacent to the output socket and plenty of pick marks . Nut measures 42mm. Frets are all good and the trussrod works as it should. Neck pocket is nice and tight. Pot codes dated 38th week of 1974. Neck end stamp. 0103-1255. Which is: P bass. Fretted maple. 12th week. Friday. 1975. The case, which I believe has always been with this bass, is an older and rarer one, issued between 1967-71. The condition is exceptionally good and the catches all function properly. It also comes with Fender hang tag and the original owner’s manual. This is one of the best seventies Fender basses that I’ve owned and I’m not really sure about selling it. I might well decide to sell a few others and keep this one to gig with. Anyway, it’s up for sale at the moment. I would much prefer collection from my place in Herts. If this isn’t possible I will be happy to post but only with a courier of my choice and with proper insurance. Let me know and I will get a quote. For sale at £2,450. I’m not looking for trades at the moment and offers by pm only, thanks. Cash or bank transfer.

It's the same for me and at times it can be truly miserable Mrs. mac only drinks decaff tea and coffee these days. After trying many different brands, for the last few years she has stuck with Yorkshire Tea's decaff, as it actually does taste like tea.

That was why I was asking if it was a new bass. Like you, I was wondering about the nut.
-
Is this a new P bass or just new to you?
-
Check the tuners, sometimes a loose one of them is the culprit.

I feel exactly the same when playing Teenage Kicks and I thing just about every band I've been involved with has done that song.
