1. Hi everyone, thank you so much for all the votes and kind feedback. I'm on a bit if a high today. Yesterday I had a small windfall and spent the day relaxing with the wife and kids we then booked a holiday and to top it off the composition challenge went well so I'm feeling quite chuffed today. Thanks again. On to the next one.
 2.
I think who ever wins should dedicate march's comp to Paco De lucia Who died Today. Probably the best Flamenco guitarist Ever. R.I.P Paco
I think this is a great idea. I agree that this months challenge should not only be dedicated to Paco but also inspired by him. I'm not very good visually but I will try and find a picture that may be inspirational. I'm overwhelmed to have won. Thank you very much for the votes. Good luck to all in next months challenge.
 3.
the boy: Beautiful! Grabbed me right from the start. Very nice choice of sounds. Great lyrics and vocal (maybe needs a slightly ‘warmer’ reverb, but I’m splitting hairs…). Love the simplicity of it all. I was waiting for it to step up a gear towards the end, but the sax parts gives it just the lift it needs without any grand fanfare. Very nice indeed mate. Paul
Totally agree, the vocal is way too sharp. I'm experimenting with my new mic so it may take a bit of time to get it right. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for organising the challenge each month it's great craic.
 4.
He was the vulnerable and sensitive type - birds like that, y'see. Or they used to at any rate. Now they just seem to like vodka and big cocks. I blame reality TV.
I always thought if him as a girl. I know he isn't and he's not cross dressing or anything like that but in my head he was a woman. Weird.
 5. Tell the pub to be careful when taking fifties as one of the fifties they paid you was a dud. Don't imply that you would like another and give them the dud back. The ball is in their court then. My money says they refund you.
 6.
I play in three bands and I keep a Google diary. More importantly, I keep it up to date. It's generally first come, first served.
Gulp...... Google diary, make sure the taxman doesn't see it.
 7. Looks good. I bought one of those apogee USB jobbies lately. Very good piece of kit. I'm still on the lookout for a cheap spare. Let us know how you get on with it.
 8. Hello again..... Sorry about the last thread going off topic slightly. Is the badass sold? I will have it, if it's still available. Thank you in advance for some wonderful service.
 9. I've listened to them all now and ones got a hook on me, I'm going to let them marinate in my mind overnight so My vote is pending. I really like them all. There's one that reminds me of something else and I can't quite put my finger on it. Great entries all round. Good luck everyone.
 10.
I do not know what a 212 is.
Focusrite do a 2 in 2 out budget interface. I've been using one for the last few months and I've had a similar experience(problem) to yours. I was wondering if we were using the same gear as we may be able to work the problem out together(that's all). Two heads and all that.
 11. Here's my entry. I hate it. It's cliched and rushed as usual. The lyric is the first thing that came into my head and the vocal is sharp but I felt I needed to get something in this month as two months without a entry might lead to me drifting away totally and I enjoy it too much to do that. I'm loving the entries so far. Haven't listened to them all but of the ones I've heard, it's a difficult choice. http://m.soundcloud.com/theboysings/train
 12.
I use a 2i2 with a Rode , and occassionally seem to have output issues from the Mic , I can use the Mic with other preamps no problem but have intermittenet issues with the 2i2 , However I also get the odd issue if I have the 2i2 plugged in on the computer start up , the sound is pants on playback , but as long as I plug it in after I turn the computer on it seems OK , I just put it down to electrickery and stuff .
Concurred.... Exactly.
 13.
It's not his hands I'm worried about.
The old "look no hands" trick. Gulp.....
 14.
Will do old chap!
Lol good man. I'm glad you enjoyed that.
 15.
Well I say this band at the weekend and they all overplayed. It was great. Seriously check them out, great live band :
Anyone who starts a post with "well I say" is definitely on the wrong forum. Try posting here old boy, I think you'll find you are much more at home. http://www.theroyalforums.com
 16.
Never mind apologising to your fellow bass players, it's the married couple you should be asking for forgiveness. Everybody knows a marriage needs a strong foundation if it going to work , and that foundation is built on a good , solid no-frills bass line . If that marriage fails somewhere in the future then it may well be that your fancy finger work was the beginning of the end for them . Slapping and false harmonics are two of the most commonly cited reasons for divorce in Britain nowadays. Fact.
Marriage is very like basing playing. A bit of harmony never goes amiss, however sometimes the only answer is a good slap when she's overfretting.
 17.
Will have a 'fiddle' and see what transpires!! Thanks for the steer, bro!!
Are you using a 2i2?
 18.
Yeah we'll never say no to late entries It just means you get fewer listens and consequently fewer votes. But heh... if it's a matter of posting a track or not, then I'd say it's always better to go for it.
It's the taking part that counts...... Lol.
 19.
Good man! Bear in mind that the deadline for entries is Friday night. Don't let that put you off if you want to finish it over the weekend... I can happily add your track once the voting has started, you'll just be fashionably late to the party.
Oh?...... Didn't know that was an option. Handy to know. I often have difficulty getting it done in time.
 20.
Bottom line here is that at the precision was aimed at guitarists so that they could lay down the bass as another feather in their cap, so to speak- the design was based on the Fender Telecaster; it was a bass guitar. As we all know, it was called the Fender Precision bass because the frets allowed guitarists to play basslines without having to learn upright bass technique or finger positions. Handily, players found it could make a pretty good impersonation of a double bass too, so perhaps nobody saw the need to make it sound further like one by removing the frets.
This..... Also frets on a bass were new technology. It was the most modern concept to play a fretted bass guitar. It wouldn't have been cool to play a fretless bass guitar. That would basically be a shrunken bass on its side.
 21. I had a bid on this but sadly I was outbid. I really want one of these but I believe I will get one for £500ish. It will happen. In the meantime I'll have to wait.
 22.
It's too late to stop now....
One of my top ten of all time. Bring it on home to me.... Always gives me a lump in my throat. Perfect album for being home alone with a drink on and a smoke on. Great choice WOT. Astral weeks is a great one as well but you need to be in the mood for it.
 23. Keeping an eye on that one. I'm not gonna go too crazy though as I have my heart set on a jv p. I wish they weren't making such silly money though. I can rationalise spending £500 but after that I'm not sure. Given that I could pick up a pretty decent newish USA p for a couple of hundred quid more. I'm constantly buying and selling guitars and basses but the JV is a slinky temptress that seems immune to my charms. Alas she will be mine and when I have her I will encase her and parade her and make sweet soul music to her (I mean with her....ahem). Sorry about that, good night.
