1.
Thanks for your interest spacey. Just checked through all my pics, thinking I had taken one showing the whole thing but it would seem that I didn't. My pics above do show just about every detail though. Let me know, if you really need the portrait shot and I'll sort it tomorrow,
I think not would help. It's difficult to piece the image together.
 2.
10:30pm tonight, BBC4 (sky 211) is a documentary on "Wish You Were Here", not the sitcom but the Pink Floyd album, followed straight after by them live in concert. Cheers, Rich
Pink Floyd gets me down. I love their music but it takes something out of me. I know that sounds artsy fartsy and gay ( in the non homosexual way, this is not a homophobic post ) but it really does wear me out. I'm too old for it but I used to really love it when I had a bit of soul to spare.
 3.
I would rather go for a £200ish Squire, Vintage or similar fretless & play with for a month or so before I altered my dream bass if it suits then go ahead, you'll get your money back on the cheapo no problem.
This.......... Maybe you can borrow one.
 4.
Tune in again at 1.20pm tomorrow and you won't be able to say that.
Meow.....
 5.
Sound City (Dave Grohls documentary about the studio of the same name) was on the BBC over the weekend, and is currently on iPlayer. Liam
Very interesting documentary. What a sound. I listened to a lot of the albums today after I watched this and it really is an amazingly rich full sound. Digital has come on so much that I can't ever see anybody returning to analogue and tape but wow it sounded awesome. Thanks for the link. Toni Blackburn is currently on piers Morgan if anyone's interested. Lol.
 6. Loving the entries so far. One in particular is distinctly catchy. I've got a strong tune in my head and a melodic verse. The problem is putting it all together so it sounds ok. I'm definitely in this month though.
 7.
Sound City (Dave Grohls documentary about the studio of the same name) was on the BBC over the weekend, and is currently on iPlayer. Liam
Currently downloading to phone. Will watch at work tomorrow.
 8.
Here's a rough mix of my entry, I am having problems with my ears and have lost my hearing in one so I am posting this as a work still in progress, but would love some feedback on the mix. Skol would really appreciate your feedback and advice, mail me on here if you want to give us your thoughts. Cheers guys https://soundcloud.com/9thaspect/its-got-soul
Awesome.........
 9. "The intonation is a bit off" lol..... I honestly think he must be taking the piss.
 10. Ok I voted. I needed closure. I really think the song has unbalanced my ying or my yang. I'm going to have a cup of tea now and if it's not perfect I may cry for a long time. I may have a real drink. I'm supposed to be drying out at the moment. Who'd of thought a song could be so strong.
 11. The mixes are excellent and I love the song but I honestly felt a bit depressed by the time I'd listened through all of the mixes. It's down to two for me and I'm not sure which way it will go. The song is quite deep and heavy and can wear you out emotionally. Something upbeat next month please.
 12.
Its my first submission (in fact I didn't even know about the competition until yesterday) so I have no idea about time scales. I stuck it up quick in case we needed to get them in asap for voting etc.. Of course, listening to it today I can hear new parts (a piano tinkle here and there) I could add.
You can continue to modify your entry until the closing date I think. Make sure the link remains the same though, if there are lots of links it may get confusing. Nice track. It captured the idea well.
 13. I can't get "love in vain" out of my head.
 14. Is it an exterior wall. Are there damp Issues etc. Is the hanger placed over a radiator or even near one where the room is warm then cool and a little damp. I can't recall a bass ever warping due to being hung, however I do recall a bass I bought a while back which I received played for 10 mins to check it out, it was perfect. I then placed it in my garage in a gigbag with strings tensioned for a few months (schoolboy error, I bought it to ravage for parts for a project that didn't happen ).... Anyway when I went back to get it a little later the neck was badly bowed. I tried leaving it adjust slowly in a drier environment for a few weeks but it got worse. I had to dump it. In my experience it's environment that warps necks. Or of course it may be a dodgy neck. How old is it.
 15.
Great documentary.............. he's like a kindly uncle isn't he..... a sort of musical Santa Clause. I wonder if he's got anything nice to say about the Rolling Stones? http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/q-a-ginger-baker-on-why-the-rolling-stones-are-not-good-musicians-20131011 oh........ apparently not......
Great interview.
 16.
Seems like a complete c**t to me. Still, I guess there's no law that say great musicians have to be nice people.
Absolutely.... But when dealing with these type of people I remind myself they are not human in the same way we are and forgive them for their ways. He is a single minded selfish prick with a tendency for a violence. He's fun from a distance. I feel sorry for his kids.
 17. Congrats to Skol.... A worthy winner.
 18. Watching it now. Awesome.
 19.
We're on the case. A series of 40-second slots on the main TV channels and a percussive campaign of posters on buses, featuring nubile young things whispering sweetly "Bass Compo Challenge..!" whilst twirling down a pole should do the trick. ... ...or not. What budget do I have to play with..? No, I mean, I have to audition the twirlers, you see. I'll post the videos here, though, if you wish...
Lol
 20.
Dammit, busted again!!
Always the same old faces.......
 21. Perverts, you should be ashamed of yourself. Now get over to the composition competition and vote...tut tut....... link below LOL http://basschat.co.uk/topic/227997-january-composition-competition-voting/page__st__30
 22.
but it would be great to see 10 to 30 entries each month ..
Absolutely..... With a couple of hundred votes. There has to be a better way of promoting it within the website. I've no idea how but there must be some clever guy here who can work it out.
 23.
Yup, that's the power of imagery for ya! It's also the power of country music. I do quite like bluegrass.
Bluegrass is ace..... I had exactly the same problems making my entry this month, probably why I didn't get it finished that coupled with mic and interface problems (all sorted now). I put the unfinished track on soundcloud earlier as I couldn't get any other recording done with it hanging in limbo.... Here's a link if anyone wants to take a listen.... I'll be back next month though. http://m.soundcloud.com/theboysings/burt-reynolds
 24. Voted...... I voted for the one I thought captured the pic best as none of the tracks really appealed to me as such. Nothing wrong with them but not to my taste. Interesting how all the tracks took a similar theme. Bert is visually more powerful than we would think.
 25.
. Still raising a finger to my ..er ...superiors by playing mustang sally like it stole something from me !
No..... I actually mean 'where the hell have you been' I haven't seen you around here for a while. Or am I mistaken.
