1. I've had chronic neck-dive with my Warwick Streamer. Got one of these today http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190875549598 , and the issue is now sorted.
2. I hardly ever use my Warwick Streamer due to a chronic neck-dive issue. A leather strap with a rough unfinished underside helped a little, but now the issue is sorted thanks to one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190875549598 I can now just let the bass hang 'sans-hands' stylee, and it does not move. Well pleased with the outcome, quality of the strap, speed of delivery, price.
3. I think it's about £40 around here.
4.
Hey Rob. Sounds to me like you would regret selling it - given the circumstances. There are so many sad stories on this forum of people who sold beloved instruments only to bitterly regret it! And in any case, it's very much a buyer's market at the moment. Keep it, enjoy it, use it for recording and remember your father fondly.
Wise words !!
5. Cheers Guys, yep, scale length. It dawned on me this afternoon. I'll give the neoprene strap a go. Top tip: Never buy a bass you've only tried out whilst seated...and never, ever even consider a straight swap for an 80's BB3000...with JD electrickery by Mr Diggins himself. ('Twas a long search to correct that one !)
6. I have a Warwick 'Streamer STD'. I like the neck, but it has chronic neck-dive. A rough undersided leather strap helps, but far from cures the issue. Tried moving the bottom strap button too, but not much improvement there either. Neck seems to be 63mm wide and just short of 70mm long in the pocket. (As best as I can measure without dismantling it) Anyone know whether this will 1) Fit a std 'Precision' body and 2) Reduce the neck-dive anyway ? The original Streamer body is rather light. I'm currently looking at an Alder body which weighs 3kg plus. My main concern is even if the neck does fit, although the body will be significantly heavier, the Streamer neck is 4 frets longer than normaly on a Precision, so although the Precision has the desired 'strap button above the 12th', it won't be with the Streamer neck fitted. I get the feeling I've overlooked something rather obvious and it's defo not going to work as a straightforward 'bolt-on and go'.
7. What the heck is going on ?!? Ric's just don't do it for me, but this is the second Ric this evening that I absolutely lurrve the look of.
8. Never tried one, so I'm not really entitled to an opinion, but other than visually, Ric's just don't float my boat...or at least they didn't...until now ! Beauty !!
9.
I'm not too fond of the selector switch either. If I had one I'd ditch the switch and put another volume pot in. I have a BB614 and use the blend pot quite a bit, it's useful if you can vary between the pickups.
I did the opposite on a BBN4, changed the VVT to VTToggle. So used to that set up on my BB3000 and BB1000s.
Japanese built models, yes, but Taiwanese models came with either ebony or rosewood - depending on period of production.
Well ya live 'n' learn !! I saw one for sale a couple of years ago that was listed as having a rosewood board, but I assumed that was an error. It's the only one I've ever seen tho'. I've had three BB3000's, MIJ's with ebony boards.

That's a great price !! Yes, BB3000's all have ebony boards. My first and second had striped and my third, purchased here on B.C from BB2000 (Top man !), has a totally black fingerboard.
12.
It would be, I would 100% say head down to to for sale. I mean this isn't a Warwick but look at the bargain to be had for a USA built bass over a Chinese RockBass. http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1
Not that it's that style of bass anyway, but that neck humbucker means it's no 'slap machine'.
13. Keep it ! It's like 'a truely amazing Pbass'....but on steroids !!
14. I have a Warwick Streamer Std.(bolt-on neck) and that needed a wide rough leather strap and the re-positioning of the bottom strap button to limit the neck dive.
15. I fitted threaded brass inserts when I re-assembled a BBN-4. It pulled down so tight the corners around the back plate are now recessed, no exaggeration. It's so tight it's now a thru-neck !
So last week I had my eye on a Bb1024 on ebay, hovered over the buy it now a couple of times but talked myself out of it. It didn't sell and last night got re-listed 70 quid cheaper. Did I buy it I hear you ask? Fcuk Yeah!
Sweet !!
19.
I tried to post 2 pics via photof***et - but it didn't work wither - think I'm gonna leave this site - it's sh*t!!!
Oh deary me, It doesn't take much beforer the toys get thrown out of your pram.
20. I did a few stints with a band who needed CGCF. Now that was a 'trouser flapping' experience. A set of 50-110 were fine on a Warwick Streamer. They were like steel girders when tuned to EADG.
21.
Basically yes. The Tanglewood & Hudson stuff are definitely related (Tanglewood were a brand owned by the guy that owns Cranes in Cardiff & so are Hudson) & I think they (and many other cheap import lines) are built in the Cort factory
I was wondering why Cranes in Swansea has loads of Hudsons on display.
