1.
It won't sell at that price. If the BIN was £500, even in that condition, with case etc, it would struggle. Opening price of, say, £250 with a BIN of £400 and it would have a chance.
Agreed.
  2.
Overwhelmingly disagree with that statement, but good luck with the sale! However, new sale rules i think say you need to give a trade value?
I'll second that.
  3. MIJ Yamaha BB3000. Had an 80's jobbie for six years until it was stolen, then two years later after having Status, JayDee and EBMM Stingray, I found another BB3000 (with std Yam and Jay Dee electronics) which five years later I swapped for a new Warwick Streamer (???). Finally found another BB3000 for sale here on BC ('BB2000'...top man to deal with !!). This one is going nowhere !!
  4.
Any idea what it would cost to convert it to fretted? Who would be up for the job besides Warwick?
Gary Lewis (www.lewiscustomguitars.co.uk) or Marv at Cranes. Both Swansea area.
  5. Stunning !! (One thing tho'. 11k brand new.....and you just get a gig bag ? )
  6.
Bears sh*t in 'em
7. I've got the single p-up version and I wouldn't let mine go for this price.
  8. I already have a BB3000 and a BB1000s, so those combined with a bank balance the wrong side of healthy means I'm able to fight my GAS. Those of a weaker disposition should NOT click on the following links !!: http://youtu.be/MLJgpScanTk http://youtu.be/emiJWe9uoHA ...and yes, PICS !!!
  9. An 80's MIJ Yamaha BB3000, with a Badass II bridge, the original passive Yamaha set up, and JayDee electronics. I did a straight swap at a local store for a brand new Warwick Streamer. No decent photos, only this one from about 15 years ago: I have a 2003 MIJ BB3000 now, but that one was an original 80's BB3000...and some !
  10.
I've been on this forum less than a week and I have already upgraded my crap little 15W practice amp which is tinnier than a tin can for a Peavey Max 112 proper bass amp There is no hope for me is there???? I am already drooling after some Yamaha basses too, and was looking at the Cort ones in the shop today! LOL!
Any of the MIJ 80's BB's !!
  11.
I see you're new here. There is a feedback forum in the marketplace for posts like this.
..er...yeah, since last June I think.
  12. One set of brand new, sealed DR Lo-Riders posted yesterday and delivered this morning. Top Man !!
  13.
it was nice. Bit polite, and very high string tension for some reason. Also photography courses at uni helped
Read as "I couldn't find the 'rotate image' button" But seriously tho', it is rather fine looking.
I used to use Warwick Black Labels in the same gauge and have moved on to Sunbeams (on my jazz) and Lo-Riders (on my Stingray 5). I think, like pretty much all of the replies so far, that there's a limit to how much other's experience can tell you as string choice is so personal but I really like the Lo-Riders. They are expensive, which would be a pain if you didn't get on with them. What is it you want that you're not getting from the Red Labels?
The Reds are fine, but I'm trying to get the action lower again, so a slightly stiffer string should help.
  15.
LEAVE IT AT HOME!!!!! you must be joking. I play my gear out, everytime. That's what it's for o:)
Right on !! Incidentaly, the only chance I got to see The Police was at the Birmingha NEC, 'Ghost in the Machine' tour and Sting had his arm in a sling after injuring it jumping through a window or something on a film set. His bass techie, Danny Quatrochi was on bass.

    Dr Lo-Riders

Thanks for the input guys. I'm looking at Lo-Riders specifically. Not DR's in general. The Lo-Ridares are apparently slightly stiffer than standard. Has anyone any experience with the Lo-Riders. Is there much of a difference between them and other stiongs of the same guage ?

I currently use Warwick Red Label (45-105). Pondering over trying Dr Lo-Rider steels. Any input or opinions ?
  18.
He had to go and collect it and also he wasn't bidding against one of those nutters that collects BBs Very nice bass indeed. It was my lack of opportunity to fulfill the collection only that put me off. What're the pickups like?
Don't know whether I quaify as a 'BB nutter', but I do have a MIJ BB3000, a MIT BBN4, this MIJ BB1000 and I've previously had two other MIJ BB3000's, one with JayDee Supernatural electrics installed by John Diggins. Strings are well dead, so until I get them changed I can't really offer an opinion on the pick-ups, but even with the strings as they are, they seem fine. I could have arranged a collection for £5 on a Next-Day service via my employers contract, but the seller would not risk it as he'd previously had a bad experience shipping an instrument.
  19. Pack yer bags Sean £186.00
  20. Just got back from picking up aN 80's BB1000S. Reverse 'P' and Jazz pick-up's. Thru-neck. MIJ. I think the finish is called Orange Sunburst. The usual minor dings, but nothing noticable unless within arms reach. No buckle rash. Everything works as it should and the hardware has no pitting. Frets are fine. Overall a nicely aged instrument. Ok then, let's have some guesses on the price. Closest gets an all expenses paid luxury holiday for two in the Maldives. (Some or all of this offer may be untrue !!)
  21.
Withdrawn due to its stunning performance at practice tonight! And; given I have spent the weekend looking and playing basses, I would have swapped for it ... Fender standard precision, modern players and vintage modified, they do not measure up to this bass. For once I'm happy to withdraw. a.
A wise decision.
  22. It may have been mentioned previously, but some photos would be a good idea.
  23. My BB3000, with recently fitted Badass II bridge.
  24.
Any price questions should not be put publically.... :-p
Guidelines for sellers Rule No.5: You must state a price for your item. Anything without a price clearly stated wll be subject to removal..
