  1. The combo is now sold and the cab is still on hold
  2. Great idea. Just saw it pop up on a listing I’ve been wondering about for a while now. Thanks @ped👍
  3. The Sandberg SL’s are unbelievably lightweight. Their regular basses are pretty light anyway but the first time I picked up an SL to try out I couldn’t believe how little it weighed. I also have an American Standard Precision from around 2016ish which is unusually light. Sometimes you get lucky with Fenders…
  4. Absolutely. I’ve had bits from Arturia and Ashdown that had to go straight back to the shop. Sometimes it’s just bad luck…
  5. That doesn’t sound good at all. I’d go straight back to the shop with it for an exchange. Used the exact same amp for years and that was never an issue. Sounds like you’ve ended up with a faulty one 😬
  6. Fantastic instruments. Love mine. GLWTS 👍
  7. @kwmlondonWell the Stagg EUBs are not bad at all for the money. I play upright a lot and needed something for public transport and touring that played and sounded like my regular bass; carrying the real upright and an amp was destroying my back!
  8. Thanks @kwmlondon. It is a great setup and it’s served me very well. Have also become very used to the amp on trolley situation for tubes and buses. Gets tricky with an upright bass but I can manage the amp with my new Yamaha SLB300 no problems.
  9. Selling my Roland JD-08 boutique synth module. Boxed in excellent condition. Good as new really! Lovely bit of kit, just not really getting the use it deserves. Collection from Peckham SE15 preferred or can post (UK only) fully insured for £20
  10. Hello folks. Decided to sell my Markbass CMD121 mini rig as I’ve just bought a much larger setup on here. The Mini CMD 121P has been my main gigging amp for years and has served me very well on hundreds of gigs. Often paired it with the NY121 cab to get the full 500W for larger stages. I’m sure you all know the specs but just in case: Mini CMD 121P 500W RMS @ 4 ohms / 300W RMS @ 8 ohms 1 x 12” speaker and piezo tweeter NY121 cab 400W @ 8ohms 1 x 12” speaker and piezo tweeter I’ve got a proper Markbass cover for the combo. No cover for the cab I’m afraid. Both the combo and cab are working perfectly. Did have a slight problem with the amp’s DI output for a while but that has since been sorted with a bit of switch cleaner, thanks to a post on here. Would prefer to sell both items together but could split if you’re desperate. Looking for £650 for the full rig, or £450 for the combo, £280 for the cabinet. Collection from South East London SE15. Could possibly meet up within a reasonable distance too.
  11. Finally got around to trying this and it worked! Can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner. The DI is sounding glorious, no breakups or crackles in sight (sound??). Big thanks to @Phi7🏆
  12. Bought a fantastic Markbass rig from Pav @pjsbass yesterday. He gave me a great deal and was kind enough to drive out and meet me part way after work. Great communications and a pleasure to meet in person. A very easy and smooth transaction 😎

  13. @bass_dinger It’s a great idea to get involved with these groups. I fell into playing for loads of amateur dramatic groups all over Essex and East London whilst I was at college and it was fantastic experience. As @harukimentioned earlier it’s brilliant for improving your sight-reading and you’ll get to play a huge variety of music in a multitude of styles. Also a great way to meet other musicians and build up some contacts. I’d recommend it to anyone
  14. They are lovely basses. Played one at The Bass Gallery a few weeks ago and was rather taken with it. GLWTS 👍
  15. I’ve certainly had brand new instruments arrive perfectly set up from the factory that take a little while to settle down and then need a fresh set up after a week or two. There are a lot of factors that can affect the overall set up of a bass like temperature and humidity. I’d give the bass a couple more days to settle and give it a little tweak then see if it holds.
  16. Very sorry to hear this Jack. I did once have an older student who sustained a very similar injury as a child (in fact I’m pretty sure it was the same finger). He’d had a skin graft and whilst he had very little feeling in that finger tip he was playing fine on it, even as a complete beginner. Wishing you a speedy recovery! 👊
  17. It’s everywhere now sadly. I get one or two of them pretty much every time I list something 😐
  18. I always report these offers on Reverb and they always get back to me pretty sharpish and block the fake accounts. I’ve found their support team really helpful over the years. Definitely worth reporting I reckon.
  19. The DI on my CMD121P became unreliable a couple of years ago. Would be working fine one day then inexplicably drop out mid-gig the next. Investigated trying to get it fixed but most amp repairers won’t touch Markbass gear. Didn’t particularly fancy the faff of sending it up to the authorised repair place up in Sheffield so I just avoid the DI now and use a separate box at gigs; the amp has been brilliant apart from that and it’s probably done hundreds of shows with me by now so willing to put up with the slight inconvenience of the dodgy DI. If I do find myself playing up In Sheffield though I will drop by Real Electronics and see what they can do. Sounds like it’s not an uncommon issue…
  20. Lovely bass 👌
  21. What a great story. The bass looks fantastic. Congrats 👌
