1. Korg Pitchblack for me, nice clear display, easy to see on stages with lots of lights and it does what it says on the box.
2. I had exactly the same problem fitting a set of Ernie Ball flats to a Stingray a while ago. I bought them through Strings Direct. I mailed them asking if they supplied single strings and was sent a brand new G the next day free of charge. So it might be worth asking the shop you brought them from. Out of interest, are the winding posts on your G&L tapered? They are on the Rays, and as you wind the string down the post, they slip, and Im sure thats what caused the problem for me.
3.
I agree - The 600 will still be a beast. The 900 gives the headroom for pushing it with serious EQ changes which is a god send for me as I used to clip the output of every amp I used.
Totally agree there. The 9 just seems to be able to take it and push it right out. Never had that with a amp before. Cracking little amp.
4.
I found a really cool pic of the new ABM 1000 head, the one with the digital power section, it looks really small, at least compared to the 2000W version or any of the valve series, I guess 1000 Watts might be a bit overkill though...
I tried that out at the LBGS, really good size and sounded pretty darn good to me.
5.
Yep, thats right... three times the weight, and a third of the power.
Yes, but they sound sooo good
6. Sharp intake of breath and shakes head
7. Looks perfect to me like this.
8. If you buy the Vintage, (as you say its not exactly what you want), you'll always be thinking of the Squier. Keep saving.
9. The other thing about it I am wondering is have you put a long lead on and tried to get as far away out front as you can? I use a very bass heavy tone (Dubster/Streamliner) and thought it sounded great on stage, until I stood out front and realised I had to alter my eq a touch to push through.
10.
Doesn't look as nice as the 5
+1
11. Surf green would be lovely.
12. Trace Hexa Ashdown Looks good
13. I think if you are ordering a custom build, the wait comes with it, plus you get something exactly made to your spec. How many say they have had to send theirs back due to fit and finish problems? How long did you have to wait for that infamous Ray? At these prices, its got to be worth it! Need to get my arse in gear and mail Jon
14.
I've tried all sorts of padded, Leather, Neoprene, etc, etc ones over the years, and I've ended up settling with a simple 3" wide Levys strap http://www.amazon.co...2350653&sr=8-54 It's just as comfortable as anything else, very easy to adjust (unlike most leather ones I've had), and is very cheap.
+1 Exactly what I use.
15.
Nah, its this one :-) When i got my CVP (with Lakland neck, no logo on it) out at the gig last weekend someone pointed out the SB sticker on the headstock. Im not 100% sure who it was that put it there but i have an idea.....
Excellent
16. Im kinda guessing you have tried turning the pre shape off and bumping the mids on the EQ? My Hexa sound fantastic with the pre shape engaged on its own, but in a band setting is can get a bit lost.
17.
My current P has Sponge Bob on the headstock, waaaaay cooler
Is it this one
18. The Fender Precision is the perfect bass for me and my needs. At those prices my next one will have Shuker written on the headstock.
19. The jury is still out with mine, it sounds 'smaller' to me, does that mean out front it sounds bigger/better?
20. I had a Compact before getting my Dubster and tried it with a Littlemark 3 and a Streamliner 9. Both sounded good through it, echoing Lozz's statement above regarding transparency, but the Streamliner edged it for me. Really full sounding.
21.
The BG 250... It begs the question - in real-life, is it 250w... or 125w?
that did make me do one of them lol's
22.
Last i heard he had left the country and changed his name to wainpunkdude to evade being tracked down
Im sure it was Waynejazzdude
23. Nah, don't like any of it!!!! Only joking, lovely little set up. Congrats.
