1. I used to think it was a total waste of time myself. Listen to Pino for tips on how an octave divider should be used. Sure it seems useless until you pull some fancy fill and the bottom drops out of the whole band...
2. £180 with cabs? You want jam on that? Seriously, you'll maybe get a new combo for close to that money - Ashdown comes to mind immediately. They do a 1x12" 180 watt combo for about £220. Buying used you have much more choice. Recently there's been quite a few combos for sale around the 200 quid mark, usually Trace Elliot, Ashdown, Peavey.
3. Black with Bart NTMB active circuit (including mid-shift switch like the 55-02). As I say I haven't really decided if I want to part with it, but stick up some pics of the RH and I'll give it some more thought. Cheers Ian
4. Would you consider a Lakland 55-01? I'm not sure I want to part with it, but just wanted to gauge your interest before I'd even consider it!

6. Best bass I've ever played, bar none, was a Fodera Emperor 5 (also with a pope preamp). Good job too since the Gallery was looking £4k for it! Have to say I choke at the thought of anyone paying that for a bass (but someone who is willing to will be along in a minute to remind us that classical instruments cost much more...) I'd also say that the most overpriced (IMO) bass I've ever played was a Fodera Victor Wooten 4 I played the same day. Don't mind me... I've got the cold and am feeling a bit sad about it...
7. Fingers -> Lakland Skyline JO (passive Lindy's) -> Ashdown ABM C110 combo (eq OFF, pre-shape ON, gain 3/4, solid/valve on 1/2) -> internal 10" & Aguilar GS112 extension. Best tone I've ever got. Sounds pretty wicked with a pick on the same settings but with the bridge pickup rolled off to 3/4.
8. Thank goodness for that... thought I was going to have to break the piggy bank again!

What's the stringf spacing like on this Kev?

Aria STB-GT5

I've always had a soft spot for Arias since my longest term bass was an MAB20/5. That looks mighty impressive. I'm off to have a look at these on t'internet!
11. Another quick question - I know some of Stu Hamm's basses have a 32" sclae. Is this 32" or 34"?
12. Hmmm... seems to me you need to put these buns back in the oven for a while... although I could be wrong, it's happened before... I think it was a Tuesday.
13. Did I miss the price somewhere? Or are you only after trades now?
14. Looking forward to a large becoming available - might clash with the ginger hair and beard, but I'll not have to look at it so who cares!
15. I've said it before and I'll say it again... Great ooga mooga!
16.
Used but in good condition. Killer amp for the money - pick it up with one hand, plug in one lead and you're ready to rock. http://www.eden-electronics.com/products/rsseries/rs410.aspx £350. Buyer collects. Guildford. Jon
Once again I wish you were closer Jon!
17.
Oooopps - I just did a sex wee!
Me too! I remember playing a similar one to that a while back (Flanker bought it - don't know who has it now). The nicest 4 string jazz bass I've ever played. Something about the Celinder neck just screams 'fondle me'! Someday I'll have one... couldn't afford a Squier at the minute!
18. Can't comment on the DB112 but I'm loving my GS112. Unbelievable performance from such a small cabinet (better than a lot of 1x15 cabs I've owned! Always fancied 2 DB112s in Black and Silver with a Chrome Ashdown ABM head. Now I have the head coming from Flanker so maybe I'll make the whole rig real somewhere along the way!
19. Graceland is the only Paul Simon album I own. To be honest I bought it because I loved 'You Can Call Me All' - I'd never heard any of the other songs before buying it. It's now one of my fave albums of all time. Love 'Diamonds on the Soles of her Shoes'. I think I've seen the show you're talking about, but it was years ago. If I recall Mr Simon said something along the lines that it was his best album and Graceland was his best song (except for the 'ghosts and empty sockets' line which he thought was too muddled)... Have to say I can't argue with the guy being so up himself. He's Paul Simon FFS! BTW Have you seen Princess Leia lately... I wouldn't touch her with yours...
20. Just sold Clarky a CIJ P-bass. Great transaction and he kept in touch while things were progressing, even though he was on the other side of the planet some of the time!
