It is a great little amp, a bit weighty I grant you, but I've lifted worse. Needs a good clean externally, only problem is a hint of fuzzy distortion for a couple of minutes then settles down, I'll have to get that looked at, but overall quite chuffed.
" It’s not well known, but in the very early 2000s Pete toyed with this very idea - a Far Eastern built budget Wal. He was in deep discussions with a major UK distributor. I never knew who but my (wildly speculative) guess was someone like Frontline who distributed Laney and Ibanez at the time"
If I recall correctly it was Westside Distribution, the Mesa Boogie importer.
Fender Jazz Neck, 75 reissue, made in japan. Good condition, few dinks on the back, frets good, neck straight.
Would like to trade for a 60's reissue jazz neck.
PRICE DROP now £200
Ibanez P3115 combo, 300w, upgraded with a faital pro pr 400 speaker, couple of scrapes hear and there but overall good condition . Original weight is 17kg, think the faital is a little bit lighter, still a very manageable lift.
Sounds great, remarkably punchy and quite loud.
No postage but could potentially deliver myself, as my job involves travel all over the UK.
MTD Kingston K5, passive bass, volume tone, MM pickup, good condition, sounds and plays nice. No case. Price dropped to £200.
Trades welcomed for P' s, J's, bitsa' s, lightweight amp head, trace elliot stuff, anything really, give me a go!
Zeller 3/4 size bass, Romanian made, excellent condition, a few marks on the sides as you would expect, ebony board, adjustable bridge, spirocore weich E,A,D and spirocore mittel G. David Gage realist pickup fitted. Nice sounding bass. Soft case included. £700.
I found it really difficult to get a low enough action, possibly due to the radius of the board, and the sound just never worked for me, lots of bottom end and harsh top end no matter how I had the EQ set. Very disappointing as the bass itself looked and felt great.
The MTD is a fantastic bass, irrespective of the price, I paid less than a 3rd of the value of the fender for it and it outperforms the fender in every capacity.
Worst was definitely the US fender jazz deluxe 5 string, most disappointing bass I've owned which I regretfully traded a nice warwick streamer 5 for.
Best was the last purchase of the year, an MTD kingston 5 string, passive single mm style pickup, really great sound and playability, great price too.
