1. [s]For sale my tc vortex flanger, received recently on a trade as I was intrigued to try it, I'm more of a phaser kind of guy it would seem and flanger just ain't my thing. Obviously this is a great one as tc don't p**s about condition wise it's in v good shape, a few minor marks on the front edge and a couple on the back near the power inlet. The usual velcro is on the bottom. Pics to follow when am not on mobile version... £60 inc uk shipping Local collection is very welcome of course [/s]

  3.
Thanks! Yea a few people now have said I need to change it, I think this will be the 3rd time, I really shouldn't name it after gear......maybe something simple, I'll have a think! Here's a pic to hopefully show the scale of it:
cuuuute! ...you need a new avatar too matey
  4. That looks like a sweeet rig buddy! Need another pic to give a proper idea of it's scale though
  5.
Cheers for the update on the sounds Andy - much appreciated!
no prob buddy
  6.
But the million dollar question is "is it any good for metal" lol GLWTS mate
cheers matey the pup has a metal cover so of course it's good for metal :/ it's a black bass too
  7.
Hi Andy - I can't figure out what these sound like exactly - can you shed some light? The two main demos on Youtube both seem to have quite an overdriven sound - is that how the bass sounds when you dig in then? Or is the guy using some distortion. Love the look - just can't figure out how they sound! I play a regular P bass now so kinda thought it would be roughly the same ballpark.
Hiya matey, the sound is very similar to a p mostly due to the pup location I think but is slightly more humbucker-y in it's mid range without the humbucker output, I've got a recording of a band practice last week where I was playing it through a LMIII head and my EAD FN212 cab with no fx, I'll try to put it on soundcloud and provide a link, the intro to the song we were writing is the bass played with a pick and gives the sort of sound I'm talking about, the other songs from that week were fingerstyle and sounded very p like indeed.
Fabulous Andy, if my Yam Att Spec goes and this is still up I'll happily have a jaunt over Snake or Woodhead
coolio matey, littlethoughts has first dibs but I'll let you know if he decides against
  8.
PM'd
replied matey
  9.
hi Andydye, does this come with any kind of case?
yes matey, it's got a padded fender'like gig bag, no name on it but the padding is pretty good, I've got plenty of bubble wrap and a good box for it too so shipping would be no problem (within the uk). cheers A
  10. [s]For Sale, my Cabronita P Bass, bought recently as an experiment in whether I want to go back to a p bass and the answer is yes but I'm gunning for a USA p bass I've just seen in a local shop gas strikes again!! In excellent condition, just one tiny indentation on the back of the bass, the neck is lovely to play and the fidelitron pickup gives a pbass like sound but with a tad more humbucker honk to it...v cool, it also looks freakin' awesome!! It's black, with a white pickguard and a maple neck, not a sticky maple neck, a nice non-sticky maple neck, really good to play but my heart lies with a USA p that I met in a guitar shop last week... Pics are currently 'borrowed' from the previous owner, I'll do my own asap... Stock pic to give the actual colours: £350 inc uk shipping, local collection for £325 (I'm going shopping for that p-bass on Saturday so if anyone wants this before then it'll help the credit card strain ) Any pricing queries by pm please folks [/s]
  11.
Just get a p bass , an ampeg and be done with it !!

+1 SVT and P = Heaven I'm based in South Yorks, I'm not lending them out but pm me if you want to try out a 70's SVT or a B15

What he said
The p-bass aspect of the solution is being investigated on saturday when I take my cabronita into a local shop that has the p I've got my eye on... SVT, thanks for the suggestion guys but no thanks, I've listened back to the recordings of our practice and the amp sounded awesome (the bass still isn't quite doing it for me though)! Me being stood next to and slightly behind my cab meant I missed out on all the direct clarity and just caught the reverberations of the large room...every note sounds big, fat and distinct when played finger style and there's a lovely clarity when played with a pick! Solution, buy amp and a longer lead
  12.
Deffo not up for trades? Just thought I'd ask
sorry bud, unless you're trading an orange ad200b I'm needing the cash to buy one

  14.
very sad i feel for you really i do lol andy
your sympathy is appreciated matey, I feel that admitting the problem is often the first step to recovery
  15.
to be honest going from a the lm3 id expect the orange to sound a bit less tight in the bottom end, but gd idea in trying your bass through the rig although that could mean you end up wanting the new p bass aswell lol
it is indeed a sad, sad situation matey! the p-bass in the shop was a good one as far as fender go too, I'm rather expecting to be bringing it home
  16. Well I borrowed an AD200b from a local guitar shop for our band practice last night and feckadoodle is it heavy! Looks damn good but oo it's a weighty chuffer! The sound through my EAD Foundation 212 was big and fruity, filling the room easily with gain at 12 o'clock and master on 2 (8 o'clock ish) but from where I was standing (to the side of the cab and not in front so less than ideal) it was awfully woolly too and lacked definition on any individual notes I was playing. our drummer said it sounded really good and noticeably different from the markbass LMIII head I usually use and he was in a better listening position tbh, we also recorded the practice with a condensor mic on a stick (we did this the week before and the live sound was pretty good and had good bass content as it's a decent mic) so will leave final judgement until I've heard the songs back. Last week's recording with LMIII through EAD 212 and using my Cabronita P the sound was a bit 'honky' in the mids for what I'm after (a bit too aggressive and humbuckery) and I blamed the s/s amp, I suspect now it was the bass (fidelitron pickup in it) and will be toddling along to my dealer (local music shop) for another fix on Saturday where I'll try the USA p bass I originally tried the orange with in the shop and compare it to my cabronita...I may yet do the amp change but I suspect that the first port of call is the wood&wires and get that right...
  17.
I'm central Scotland but can meet within reason or petrol money if a bit further out.
hhmmm, Central Scotland is a bit far from Sheffield, would you consider shipping (given how light they are)?
Will also coincident swaps for 4 string basses. Cash your way if needed :-)
I may have something to interest you (MIM Cabronita P-bass or MIM FSR J Bass), let me get to try one at the weekend and we'll go from there if need be

  20. once it's sold it gets locked, it being locked is evidence of it's soldness so I wouldn't worry about it matey, if a thread does need unlocking you can pm a mod explaning what you're after and include a link to the thread and they'll sort it for you
