1. They could be built into a single housing as part of a custom build though which would look fine?
 2. the pickguard colour needs to incorporate the binding colour somehow...to visually tie it all together...black, white & ivory/beige?
 3. sorry to hear it's out the door already mate! glwts!! baby gotta have a pram
 4. so does that mean that all the CTM range are valve power only with ss pre or is it just the baby one?
 5. Welcome! Nice rig matey, don't mention the 'R' word or the war and you'll do fine

 9.
I've heard many people praise the OBC115's sound. I have also heard people comment on its possible negatives, but these are technical negatives (which no doubt most cabs have). I have owned this cab for a fair few years now, and I still really enjoy the tone I get from it. It is exactly as you noted above. It's a warm, focused tone, with plenty of actual 'bass' but not overbearing. It is also quite musical and does have a suprising amount of detail in the top end.
Thanks matey, I reckon it's the one I need to go for then.
 10.
I got a friend who is selling his orange coloured TKS 215 cab (out of production) due to the size and effectivity. He complains: "It is impossible to get the amp to break up at volumes you survive using that cab..." The TKS stuff is very efficient and the ratings on the web page are honest. My 2126 cabs are not that efficient, which is stated in the web page, but they go way deep. They are more like studio monitors. In the present range of speakers I'd say the best matches to an Orange valve amp would be either the W212 or W2126 cab. Check the web page: www.tks.se You can get it in "Orange orange" and with the grille of choice...
cheers for that matey, the specs on that cab are basically very similar to my EAD Foundation 212 which suggests it will pair pretty well with that in the first instance (and which I'll be trying on Monday evening), what I was after was more of a vintagey sound (like that given when using it with a 1x15 like the orange OBC115)?
 11.
Vortex traded
And the list is shrinking

 14. I'm currently looking to get an orange ad200b all valve beast and when I tried it in the shop with their orange obc115 400w 1x15 bass cab it sounded awesome, it has an eminence kappa speaker in it (I believe) and I'm wondering whether a TKS cab (and which one) would be able to kick the same amount of huge richness and fat bottom end while retaining the surprisingly balanced sound and sparkly top end (and be a lump lighter)? I was very pleasantly surprised at how sensitive the orange cab was and at how good the slap sound was through it! Proper chuffin heavy though!!
 15.
Get a green one. It'll probably be cheaper;) or red ..
if I could find a black one that was as good that'd be brilliant :-D
 16.
How easy is it to fit a power scaling switch to an AD200B? Is it just a simple switch to remove a couple of power tubes from the circuit?
I've no idea how it works matey, I'd be taking it to Martin at MJW and letting him sort it for me? There's a link to the powerscaling folks on the MJW amps website...
 17.
interested in any trades?
possibly matey, you wanna shoot me a pm with your thoughts?

 20.
ah, now I see. been through this too and I've arrived! happy new [s]gear[/s] year!
Sonic nirvana comes in many shapes and sounds but usually with plenty of volume Happy New Year to you too matey
 21.
not tempted by garath's Trace V6?
no mate, I reckon it'd be even more 'too much'! I'd be having powerscaling fitted to the AD200b so I could render the volume knob useable!
You wnt regret getting the orange awesome amps
That's what I'm hoping matey, cheers
seriously, andy! if you really want to improve something, please take a decent teacher. gear won't help your wishes, you already have some of the best gear you can get...
Thanks matey and I know what you're getting at, my approach to gear has always been 'horses for courses', I've had all manner of different setups (suited to whatever project I was working on at the time) over the years and for the last few years I've been tailoring my gear to the playing scenarios I've found myself in and that's been active 5 strings through full sounding but crystal clear amps & cabs (hence the ACG, LMIII and EAD cab) which is perfect for playing in the function band and can make most noises rather nicely. I'm now embarking on a new originals project though and what best suits the sound needed now is a very simple setup of a p-bass through an all valve head, no bells or whistles required just fat and rich sounding fullness! I've also never had an all valve head so there's a double attraction there It's not that my main rig is bad or inadequate (and I intend to keep it!) I can however shuffle my other gear around to enable me to have an all valve rig that will sound (and look) perfect for this new project.
