1. There's a very reasonable 63 Fender Precision going for £2700 at The Bass Gallery..... won't be around for long at that price even if it is a refin. Cheers, Paul. (ps sale has nothing to do with me)
2. What sort of commission does Andy Baxter charge?
3. As many of you guys have said these 70's Fenders (the heavy ones) really have an amazing sound of their own, quite different from the lighter ones. I guess its only the same as playing your average 5 string Stingray etc. I'm selling my Walnut/Mocha one as you might have seen (also sounding fantastic), but I wish you luck with the sale of this one, as someone will get a great sound. Paul.
4. Be really great if you could change main heading to sold, save us all trawling through posts.... ta.
5. If you really want the gig, put in as much prep as pos. But realistically (as others have said) you'll probably only have the chance to work out some basslines for 2 or 3, but they will show your potential. Main thing is are you expected to play someone else's basslines or your own.... that will need to be negotiated. Good luck, Paul.
6. Bass Exhibition W/E Bump
7. Hi StingrayPete, Does it come with a case?
8. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Music-Man-Stingray-Bass-Guitar-and-case-/370766620063?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item565369a59f It seems this bass was for sale on BC last Summer for £750 ono......... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/179016-musicman-stingray-2005-limited-edition/page__hl__buttercream+stingray__fromsearch__1
9. Bought a gold one from fellow Basschatter recently. Took it for rehearsal a couple of days ago; does take a bit of getting used to the feel of the bass after playing a Jazz for ages, but its worth persevering because the sound is just amazing............ good luck with the sale. Paul.
10. Yes look forward to the pics.............
11. trades?
12. Did have some trades listed for a few weeks, (Musicman Stingray) but really would prefer to sell for cash at the moment.
13. GUI, I can certaily recommend Aguilar amps and cabs. After using 2 4x10 swr's I went over to Markbass 4x10 and 2x10, but still not light enough for me. So finally went for the 1x12 SL's (super light) Aguilar cabs coupled with their TH500 amp. Absolutely amazing in terms of sound.. plently of volume, extremely versatile without the normal neo classic colouration. Incredibly lightweight and great looking. Yes they are pricey, but well worth it, as they will do the job for a long time.
14.
.....have they given you any songs to learn?....if so, learn them.....I know it sounds crap but I've lost count of the number of musicians I have auditioned who have simply failed to learn the numbers......tip about relaxing and being yourself is spot on....
+1 Yea the number of people who don't prepare properly for an audition is breathtaking and an utter pain! Also remember, you are auditioning them as well. They may not be for you, and if not, you will need to tell them so. If you get on with them at a musical and personal level, check out their plans re rehearsals and gig expectations to make sure you are going in the same direction. And, good luck. Paul.
15.
No one guys? It's a great bass and the price is so low...
Great bass, great price, bet it sounds great too. I was listening to Tony Levin recently who, when asked if he preferred the early Musicman's said that the more modern Musicman's have their own advantages over the older early ones (that seem to go for such big money!) Interesting! Good luck with the sale.. have a bump on me. ATB Paul.
16. seems too cheap even with the modifications? http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/78-fender-precision-bass/1009482988#gallery-item-full-2 I realise this is not from ebay, but wasn't sure where best to post it?
17. Just to draw your attention to this ongoing Essex event taking place at The Griffin, Danbury, Essex.
18. Really enjoyed your video Shemeckfrac, very pro vid and great sounding band. Good luck with the sale Dark Lord.
19. I remember the doubleneck being auctioned on Ebay a good few years back, presumably when you got it? I did consider bidding for it, but got a single 4 string Wal. Still envious a little. Good luck with your sale/s. ATB Paul.
