2. Bought a gold one from fellow Basschatter recently. Took it for rehearsal a couple of days ago; does take a bit of getting used to the feel of the bass after playing a Jazz for ages, but its worth persevering because the sound is just amazing............ good luck with the sale. Paul.
3. Did have some trades listed for a few weeks, (Musicman Stingray) but really would prefer to sell for cash at the moment.
4. GUI, I can certaily recommend Aguilar amps and cabs. After using 2 4x10 swr's I went over to Markbass 4x10 and 2x10, but still not light enough for me. So finally went for the 1x12 SL's (super light) Aguilar cabs coupled with their TH500 amp. Absolutely amazing in terms of sound.. plently of volume, extremely versatile without the normal neo classic colouration. Incredibly lightweight and great looking. Yes they are pricey, but well worth it, as they will do the job for a long time.
5.
.....have they given you any songs to learn?....if so, learn them.....I know it sounds crap but I've lost count of the number of musicians I have auditioned who have simply failed to learn the numbers......tip about relaxing and being yourself is spot on....
+1 Yea the number of people who don't prepare properly for an audition is breathtaking and an utter pain! Also remember, you are auditioning them as well. They may not be for you, and if not, you will need to tell them so. If you get on with them at a musical and personal level, check out their plans re rehearsals and gig expectations to make sure you are going in the same direction. And, good luck. Paul.
6.
No one guys? It's a great bass and the price is so low...
Great bass, great price, bet it sounds great too. I was listening to Tony Levin recently who, when asked if he preferred the early Musicman's said that the more modern Musicman's have their own advantages over the older early ones (that seem to go for such big money!) Interesting! Good luck with the sale.. have a bump on me. ATB Paul.
7. seems too cheap even with the modifications? http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/78-fender-precision-bass/1009482988#gallery-item-full-2 I realise this is not from ebay, but wasn't sure where best to post it?
8. Just to draw your attention to this ongoing Essex event taking place at The Griffin, Danbury, Essex.
9. Really enjoyed your video Shemeckfrac, very pro vid and great sounding band. Good luck with the sale Dark Lord.
10. I remember the doubleneck being auctioned on Ebay a good few years back, presumably when you got it? I did consider bidding for it, but got a single 4 string Wal. Still envious a little. Good luck with your sale/s. ATB Paul.
11. See my review from way back. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/155870-review-of-roqsolid-covers/page__p__1379893__hl__roqsolid__fromsearch__1#entry1379893
12. They did my Aguilar amp and cabs, great job, good price, excellent quality, and very nice helpful people. ATB Paul.
13. I have a Jaco Pastorius Artist Signature Fender Jazz Fretless Bass (value about £1000.00) and I would like to trade it for a Stingray 4/5. Please PM me if interested. Cheers, Paul.
14. I'd be interested to know what bass Chris Squire used on Mind Drive on The Songs from Tsongas DVD. He has a midi pick up attached to it. And its the only bass of his not mentioned in this thread so far apart from his 5 string from the mid 80's.
15. I think all of us musicians should spearhead a movement to get paid like anyone else. Otherwise it is devaluing our playing. If you want to then donate your earnings to a good cause, great, but at least let us earn the money so we can decide what to do with it. Really liked the story about the plummers.....
16. Bassamp sold me his Epiphone Jack Casady. Item as described, excellent communications, bass despatched quickly and extremely well packed, highly recommended basschatter. Thanks, Paul.
