1. SOLD TO MANU! Another bit of holiday catching up: I have 2 custom sized Aero type 1 pickups that came in a custom de Gier JB5. These pickups accommodate 5 string basses with 19mm spacing and are around 4.5 inches wide (please note these are not standard sized, they are custom sized). I have Nordstrands in all my basses so these have been sitting in my drawer for about 2 years now. If you are planning on building a 5 string bass, grab yourself a real deal! New Aero Type 1s cost around gbp 150, so 50 gbp + shipping (7 gbp within EU) is a steal. I would trade if you want. 2. The great thing about a holiday is that you have time to catch up on things , just found some pics on my iPad of stuff I had planned to get rid of but did not get round to post. This white pearl pickguard was on my M5V originally which I replaced it with a black one. It is in very good condition (hardly used), anybody with an M5V want to try another pick guard? Going cheap: 20 gbp shipped to UK, new it would easily cost 50 gbp. (I am currently away so shipping would be in about a week)
3. I have had a month to think about it after withdrawing this from the forum in June and I am now indeed selling my Darkglass Electronics Microtubes B3K (Finnish version, still made by Douglas Castro himself). Comes with box and manual, excl P&P. Here it is on my old board:
4. That is "different", pretty bold design! GLWTS
5. I purchased a 4 knob U Retro flat response with black knobs from John East (GBP 217.50) in February to fit into a Custom JB5. It completely changed the bass, what a cracking preamp! Anyway, it appears I will be selling the JB5 soon and am not planning to sell the U Retro with it. Anyone looking to save 67.50 for an as new U retro? Original invoice included in the sale of course. 6.
The Bassdrive has quickly become an almost-always-on pedal for me, it adds a grittiness without being obviously distorted, just what I want to make the sound "less nice" so to speak.
Exactly what I use it for too, nice one!
7. Very nice board! Empress anyone? Mine seems to change a few times a year, although I am getting to the point where every pedal I have on there is the best pedal out there for me, so only small tweaks nowadays. Yeah to the Bassdrive, mine is pretty much always on for some extra bite. Prefer it over the EBS and DHA's I had before.
Here's my current configuration, it will stay like this at least fir this summer's gigs.
8. My board in its latest incarnation. Brimstone replaced the B3K, Proton replaced the MXR. Bass Whammy added for more tonal carnage. 9. Bipbip62, you are livening up Basschat with some lovely 6 and 7 strings. Ibanez GVB, Iturra, Pedulla..... Very nice indeed. Good luck with the sale!
10. Sorry folks, but I am keeping it. Although the new Brimstone distortion I bought in many ways is a superior pedal, I just cannot part with it.
11. Bought Darren's Brimstone Distortion pedal, good comms, fast shipping, exactly as described. Excellent seller!
12. I almost bought a pair as they seem awesome, just stumbled into a Barefaced Compact+Midget deal that stopped it. Lots to like about these XS cabs. GLWTS, nice price for someone looking to go lightweight.
13.
Still available direct from Demeter though.
Yeah, just saw it.... whatever the situation I am sure the Demeter will be pretty awesome and it looks right too.
14. The 800 watt D class power section is the same Demeter builds for Jule Amps to power the awesome Monique Tube Pre.......or used to build. It is no longer advertised on the Jule Amps page...... Hmmm. Bound to be a great head, as good as the Monique? Time will tell.
15. Marco is from Brazil originally. He does make excellent basses, never seen one in Europe before only in the States. Good luck eith the sale, price is right in my book.
16. No issues do use whatever works, didn't Jah Wobble use a similar technique!? and I remember seeing a 1 fingered player on Youtube achieve blistering speeds with just 1 finger up and down.
17. Brimstone is coming to daddy
18. Never thought this day would come but I am selling my Darkglass Electronics Microtubes B3K (Finnish version, still made by Douglas Castro himself). Handmade, with box and in good condition. Price is excl. P&P Thanks, Harry
19. Just checked out the website, wow! Really impressed. Groeten uit Den Haag
20. L2500 USA owner, awesome bass. Prefer it over Stingrays that I played for many years. Pretty sure it will not be my last G&L I buy, M2500 USA at some point. Build quality, finish, parts, all top stuff and a little more friendly on the wallet than some of the more well known peers.
21. Very nice indeed! Good luck with the sale
