1. So if you are in Amsterdam for New Year's Eve and like rock music come see my band SPIT in action in the Waterhole off Leidse Plein. THE WATERHOLE LIVE MUSIC BAR Korte Leidsedwarsstraat 49 (Near Leidse Plein) 1017 PW Amsterdam www.waterhole.nl Entrance will set you back 10 euro. We start at 9.15 pm and will entertain you with 60 (did I mention we will play 8 sets?) songs you love from the 90's and 00's that should take us to 3.30 am without too much fuss. Think Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, GnR etc. We play the Waterhole pretty much every month, so if you cannot make it check the Waterhole's calendar for dates.
2. - TC E's rating of 450/750 watts are inflated (as many D class manufacturers do), the 450 putts out 236 watts continuous at 4 Ohm and 133 at 8. I do not know what exact 750 figures are but it will be around 475 at 4 and 250 at 8. It will be max 150 at 12 Ohms. - Barefaced created the 12 Ohm 210 to be part of a modular speaker system not a standalone cab. They offer a 4 ohm version I believe. - Doubling power only gives you marginal increase in volume, increasing speaker surface area is much more effective. - Playing with a pick often requires a tweater to get that high end fizzle So if you want a single cab solution go for the lightest cab with most speaker surface area, a 212 is indeed a good suggestion and get one at 4 ohm with tweater. Volume difference between a 450 vs 750 watt D class head is pretty much negligible with the cabs you have.
3. IMO Ibanez gives better bang for the buck than most, if they are asking 2K others would likely ask 3 or 4 and if build/sound etc is anything like my G105 (also 2K new) it will be worth the cash you spend.
4. 2015... the year I no longer carry under utilised pedals on my board (year right). Anyway, probably need to clean up some stuff (maybe): DHA EQ/DI - small studio preamp/DI - great little piece of kit with parallel out - in good condition - GBP50 Diamond Bass Compressor - probably the best Bass Comp you can get, comes with UK adaptor and pole inversion cable - in good condition GBP125 SOLD Source Audio Manta Filter + Hot Hand 3 - do the wobble - cracking multi filter with the latest hot hand controller - good as new (6 mnths old max) - just don't seem to be able to use it in the band - GBP170 WITHDRAWN DUE TO AWESOMENESS Digitech Bass Whammy - (max 6 mnths old) good as new - same as with the Manta, getting no use in my band - GBP95 Line6 Toneport (the old red one) - used it for year, in decent nick still - GBP40 I reserve the right to change my mind Trades? Darkglass B7K or Microtubes Vintage, a small tuner pedal, MXR Bass Octave Deluxe..... try me (just note I am pretty well sorted re OD/Distortion/Fuzz and do generally not use Boss or such pedals). Excluding P&P (a tenner within EU), shipped from NL
5. Firm part of our setlist, E based riff with not too many frills.
6. Wow, another Drozd art work. It looks amazing and it will sound the part too. Bargain in my book!
7. Come on people! Bargain USA L2500! Ask Ed Friedland why he loves his....
8. Stunning bass! Now where is that spare 2350?
9. Love my L2500, such an under appreciated bass. Having been a long term (15years) Stingray user I can safely say that I prefer the L series, they are cheaper, more flexible and just as well built. GLWTS!
10. I am so happy I am not ten years younger and don't like being in debt or my GAS would have made me do very silly things..... Probably the bass I crave for most at the moment but I really cannot justify buying one. With the wenge neck too.....
11. Duuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhh! Check the section before you respond..... Head hangs in shame ;p
Hi there Hazbeen, thanks for the reply, but My problem is with upright. Not that I don't have plenty problems with the other machine too. Bassfunk, thanks, I'll check that out. Definitely a big problem with db as opposed to bg is that point where momentarily you have no anchor. I try hard not to use the fingertips except for fast passages, as I really like the big sound you get with meat of the finger, especially on the E.
12. I am not 100% clear on what you mean, but I think you anchor your thumb on the pickup or top string and then rotate your wrist to move across the strings? This would not only encourage unwanted side noise from unmuted strings when playing but it also means that depending on what string you are on angle and pressure on wrist and fingers will be different. Would explain why notes do no sound even. I would advise you to practise moving your thumb whilst playing, where you anchor your thumb on the string above the string you are plucking and move your thumb when going to another string. This would improve right hand muting as well as give you even wrist and finger feel. I my understanding about the rotating wrist is wrong pls ignore
13. Great trader on BC, deal with complete confidence!
14. I bought a Micro Thumpinator off Peter, very smooth deal so highly recommended!
15. Just got back from London, will respond to all PMs now. To Karlfler, will keep you informed!
16. I have a Tecamp Puma 900 (in good as new nick) + bag, it cost me around 700 quid for the amp + another 20 or so for the bag. It is about 1.5 years old. Used it a 4 Ohm on many gigs for hours on end....... flawless. Great amp, does very clean and modern and very clean and old school really well. About a month ago I bought (had one before and should never have sold it) a GB Streamliner 900 of BC and well it was like wearing an old pair of shoes..... so comfortable.... does old school clean and old school dirty. Not used the Puma since which is a bit of a waste for what is a truly awesome amp. It probably is a good idea to keep both as they are very different beast but both great at what they do...... or is someone on the lookout for a Puma 900? No trades, no negotiating on price. P&P excluded. Any takers? I am in London tomorrow and Thursday, in Manchester September 22-25 and again October 5-10. Haz
17. I use the AKG D112, it works really well is not too expensive and is rugged. But getting a DI box is also a good idea, best case both on larger venues.

Kev's Feedback

Kev, thanks for the smooth and easy deal...... Enjoy. Top BC-er!
19. Wow, that may have been a record for me.... Brimstone and MXR sold to Kev in support of his rekindled love affair with Wicks
20. MXR M82 Bass Envelope Filter SOLD - awesome envelope filter for bass, but I very slightly prefer the more old school tone of my Proton and I cannot have 2 envelope pedals on my board. New around GBP130, I will sell mine for GBP75 excl P&P. In really good condition with the orginal box/manual etc. DHA EQ/DI - very simple EQ (with variable mid) and DI box from DHA. Excellent quality and in fully working condition. Surplus to requirement. GBP50 Now for the big one: Brimstone Audio Distortion XD-1 SOLD http://www.brimstone...distortion.html This is by far the most flexible, variable and hard hitting distortion money can buy for bass. I adore the tone and it can do mild (ligthest of grit when digging in) to complete mayhem (it is even wilder than the B3K/B7K). Check internet reviews etc etc, including the love fest on Talkbass. MEGA PEDAL. That said, real estate is limited on my board and as I like to set and forget (and I use it for B3K sounds only) I am contemplating on selling this one. Price in USA USD299 by the time you have it in UK it will have cost you almost that in GBP. I bought it on BC for GBP200 excl shipping, how about GBP175? P&P is GBP9 within Europe per pedal(s).
21. Alain just bought my U Retro, really easy transaction, good comms.... stand up chap in my book!
22. I bought a GB Streamliner 900 from Rich to replace the one I stupidly sold last year. Very easy transaction, well packaged and good comms. Have only been able to test it with my 10" cab at my holiday location so really looking forward to return home and use it in anger with my Barefaced cabs. Thanks Rich!
23. Very cool, tidy job mate..... Hmmmm maybe my PT3 needs upgrading
24. The Grooveline series are really good basses, I have one and it is better built than most basses I own of have owned that cost twice as much. GLWTS mate, hope this finds a new home. Made in Japan people!
