1.
If I hadn't already put my deposit down for my white one with USA pickups, I'd so have this. Have a bump from me
Thanks mate, yours sounds dreamy. Need to move this on guys, probably shouldn't buy my white one on my credit card!
 2.
Thanks mate - just gave that a try!
Could you let me know what happens? Might be interested here too, price dependent ofc. Cheers, Dan
 3.
sorry, didnt know that. asking price is 1800 or best offer. i thought, people feel better to buy it through ebay, instead of sending money to a complete stranger... so thats why i told you about the ebay thing. so its ok now?
It's fine now but perhaps put your price in the original listing so people can see it, please also put a currency, as this is being sold in Germany did you mean £1800 or 1800euros? People on basschat tend to prefer basschat because we make use of the ebay style feedback thread on here so we know who we're buying off and know they're trustworthy, and that way the seller doesn't face ebay's extortionate item selling fees.
 4.
Hello Nigel, Thanks for the kind words, and glad to hear that you've found THE ONE! The finest way I can imagine to promote any company is by supporting its existing and potential customers. I'm here for relations, rather than sales and marketing...which admittedly may seem somewhat of a grey-area at times. But without the support of the players, it doesn't matter how great the instruments are. Please let me know if there is anything I can assist you with!
Glad we've got you on here, Garey. FWIW I didn't think your old post was adspeak and I did find the Warwick and Framus link interesting, but not interesting enough to want to hear about guitars on my facebook all the time! Are you guys at Warwick all bass players yourselves?
 5. Hi mate, Forum rules are that a for sale price must be stated, and this forum isn't meant to be used to advertise something you're selling on ebay, unless you're selling it on here too. Cheers and best of luck with the sale of a lovely bass, Dan
 6. Thought this was announcing a new product but looks to be a sale. Please move, mods.
 7. My favourite for a while was a run of gigs we had where they had in house cab at least, and sometimes a head too, but the cab could take anything you might throw at it so you were welcome to bring your own head. Thing is, now I have a >50kg combo, 3 flights of stairs up in my house, and don't drive, I don't have an option to take my amp to gigs. I go with a sansamp and work from there, I'll deal with just having on stage monitors if necessary, but like to ideally borrow the amp there, and DI out of my sansamp too, using the onstage amp for my own sound. With this in mind, given I like borrowing gear, I'm always happy to lend out, but I wouldn't take a punt on someone I'd seen trashing his gear or treating it with no respect at the start of the night. It's a question of judgement really. Thing is, even if I did have a car, I'd be reluctant to bring any amp to a gig, nowhere to park in London anyway!
 8.
No trades at the moment, thanks mate I've dropped the price of the Warwick to $450 firm, this is a ridiculous bargain, come on folks!
Aye, a great bargain. Have a free bump for a great BCer!
 9.
I genuinely don't think Rush (or indeed most major artists) have that much say over ticket prices. I can't even control prices at most of my gigs and there are a lot less middlemen involved in mine. As I mentioned, there is a whole business built around tours these days, with everyone from the promoter to the record company taking a cut. The alternative would be to not play at all - which would surely be more disappointing to 'the fans'. Ironically - given your comment about piracy - it is largely a lack of album sales that have caused many of these acts to switch to touring/merchandise as their major source of income, because for some reason people refuse to pay £7 for an album they can keep for ever, but will pay £77 for a 2-3 hour experience.
you might be right about rush not having a say in the ticket prices, but i'm not for one second having that any of their last 10 albums didn't turn a profit in terms of sales. Traditionally bands used to barely break even on tours (apart from the superstars), Rush aren't having to bump up prices to keep their earnings where they were, they're just being used as one big cash cow by themselves and the record company
 10. Based on the fact that these roadworn finishes do seem quite popular. I'm now offering my own 'roadwearing custom shop' all you have to do is bring me your bass and £100 and a week later you'll have a roadworn one.
 11.
While I've mixed feelings about their recent studio output (say the last 25 years!), Rush always deliver live (even on an off night). With a trip to the US to see them already planned, a trip to the O2 is relatively short! I wouldn't call Wembley that central either (I used to live quite near Wembley and it was still a pain to get to, especially by public transport). I prefer the O2 as a venue and with the exception of Rush last year, every concert I've seen there has had great sound. Sure the tickets are expensive, but there's a whole business built around a touring band of this size. It's simple supply & demand really & if I could earn the same money as I do now for half the work then I'd do it (not to mention NP's aversion to touring means that they probably want to keep the tour as short as possible). Rush are charging quite a bit less than a few other acts I've seen there too...
There's supply and demand and then there's being out of touch with the wallet pressures of ordinary people at the moment. Do they really not care if a bunch of their fans are priced out of going to see them, because that's what that ticket price says? And to me, that's my issue with it, if they don't care that much about the fans, then I don't care that much about them, I hope they enjoy the 3p they get off me from assorted Spotify plays instead. Will gladly pirate their remaining albums if that's their attitude when it comes to ticket prices too.
 12. Love that. If you had to give one or two Jamerson pieces that inspired this sort of playing, I'd love to hear them so I can feel less uneducated.
 13.
REALLY? "Bloody forever"? I'm sorry, but it'd take me 3 hours to even get to any of the cities they're playing in, let alone the venue. Forgive me if my sympathy is a little shortcoming at the moment. (And yes, do also forgive me for being one of those poor people that haven't moved to live in the metropolis).
I'd say an hour and a half there and easily more on the way back. I appreciate it's not 3 hours, but my point is that despite the fact they've picked the capital city, they haven't picked a central venue, and it's not even the best one IMO.
 14. It takes me bloody forever to get to the o2, and it's even worse to get back from, AND I don't think it's a particularly good venue. It's not as if they need the money, I tend to stretch to £50 for Maiden (though the last time the ticket was a gift), if they stuck price level I'd consider it, but I can just do so many other things with £80 (tube fare, booking fee, pint at gig so I can enjoy myself a bit). It just smacks of not giving two sh1ts about their fans, and being completely out of touch with people struggling in the real world. No thanks, not for me. I think Sting has it right, his tickets are pricey but about 50% of the face value goes to charity, that I don't mind.
 15. Hi Garey. Welcome to the forum, hopefully you'll enjoy your time here. I hope this doesn't sound too harsh, but it seems like you work for the perfect department to take this on board! I'm a big Warwick fan and have owned many. I recently had to unlike the Warwick and Framus facebook page because you guys were clogging my feed with so many posts. Firstly, I didn't appreciate the Warwick page getting combined with the Framus one, I don't play guitar and I don't want to subscribe to any information about it. Also I know what the Warwick range is, I don't want advertising for it every day in my social media feed! Hopefully this feedback will be useful to you guys! Dan
 16. Lovely bass mate. Just so's you know as you're new, most people tend to leave it a little longer than 4hours between bumping threads, just so everyone gets a chance to see the new basses that come onto the marketplace. Most guys bump a couple of times per week, some of the keener guys will bump once every day or two but that's normal.
 17.
Don't think its a pinch, but its doing harmonics with the right hand, I picked it up from this vid: about 2.30 in. Except I pull more faces doing it, with more gain. Its not used in a very bass context.
it's ridiculous in this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKXn-1v75Gg Steve Bailey is the man
 18.
there's these guys. Not sure what constitutes extortionate prices, but ive had a custom made from them http://www.aurorapro...co.uk/3_ply.htm
I don't think those are by any means extortionate, will give them or bass doc a go. Thanks
 19. Not Finnish but have a Finnish girlfriend, living here in London like me. We visit Finland a few times a year, or try to at least. Gotta say I always love the finnish people, and the country is spectacular. We typically go to Karelia when we visit, as that's where my gf is from.
 20.
Forget the bass playing, that drummers left hand on the hi-hat is insanely tight at those speeds!
Exactly my thoughts, the drummer looked effortless too!
 21. Hi guys, I'm looking for a couple of pickguards at the moment, and ideally would like to find a UK based company that will sell them, or make them if necessary but not at extortionate prices. I have no issue buying from overseas, provided you don't get ripped off for it. Specifically I think I'll be after a mirror/red wine mirror (think Steve Harris sig) P-bass pickguard soon and also a 4 string Epiphone Thunderbird pickguard in the following style: http://www.wdmusic.com/gibson_thunderbird_pickguard_gt_4725.html - on there it says they don't fit Epiphone TBs and are Gibson only, does anyone know if the pickguards are different for definite? Cheers, Dan
 22. This bass is now sold. Though please check out my Epiphone Thunderbird Pro-V (5 string) which is up for sale here!
