  1. I got the MS-70CDR+ rather than the MS-60B+. Not having PC editing is a PITA. There's a good selection of effects though, and I'm not bothered about amp sims, hence going for the CDR rather than the B. I'm not sure if this is me missing something, or an issue with the pedal design. I'm using batteries in it for now, just for convenience while I'm messing around with it. On my non-plus MS pedals, I can press the Settings button and it will show me the state of the batteries. The manual for the MS-70CDR+ says that I should select the battery type so it can tell me the battery state correctly but doesn't then appear to have a way of showing the battery state, and there's nothing in the manual that I have found to tell me how to find the battery state.
  2. No, it was @Woodinblack who bought the bigly bass.
  3. Well worth it.
  4. Done the thrust bearing mod yet?
  5. Embrace the last 40 years and keep it active.
  6. I've been using its predecessor, the Tecamp Puma 900, for many years. Very happy with it. And it has options for colouring the tone or just leaving it uncoloured.
  7. I thought this was another Marillion thread at first.
  8. Vegan Loaf The Three Vocational Qualifications Hawkwind Turbine Dead Reef Bay City Scrollers
  9. Sugar mice, off Clutching at Straws. Very tasty fretless.
  10. It would still rock if you put four feet on it. It would be stable if you put three feet on it.
  11. BTW, you can get a nice cheap case for them: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/395605108359 There's loads of the same case on Ebay.
  12. It's not a serious issue. I leave Bluetooth on on my phone as I've got an unfitness tracker which is handy for relaying notifications. If I want to send music to the Neo from a different device, I have to switch Bluetooth off on the phone, then switch the Neo on and then do a connect from the other device (doesn't need to be re-paired, it shows on the paired devices list). It's really nice not having to fight with headphone cables (Katana Go, Nux Mighty Plug).
  13. I bought a 5-string J neck a little while ago which I have yet to use - I have plans. Profile feels nice.
  14. It's not obligatory to make it an 8. In a former social club band, the singer would make the middle 8 into anything from a middle 3.5 upwards, which did mean the rest of us needed to be on our toes (we did anyway for the random rearrangements of verse and chorus). But if 12 feels right, then 12 it should be (the middle 8 of our song in question is actually a middle 18).
  15. A slightly unusual rehearsal with the originals band as it's the first time I've left the previous rehearsal with a male drummer and come back to this one with a female one, and they're the same person. Our BL is somewhat stressed out by work at the moment and exhausted, so there were a few mistakes, but we got a good foundation for the next song, just sorting the middle 8 out, and we weren't too bad running through the existing songs.
  16. What's the conversion rate between moths and Australian dollars?
  17. A woman I know has incontinence pants - if they haven't got any XL in, they substitute with S. I'm not sure why they think she's gone down 8 dress sizes in a couple of hours.
  18. It should say "Paul's letter to the Epiphanies", the lesser-known one after Paul's letter to the Corinthians.
  19. Would there be this amount of whinging if it was a FSO instead of a Status-alike that nobody would take for a genuine Status? If not, why not?
  20. That's more down to the sensitivity of the human ear to different frequencies. A guitar is playing in the range of frequencies that the human ear is most sensitive to, and the bass in the range that it's least sensitive to. Edit: I'm catching up at the moment, I see this has been addressed.
  21. For many years I had a Gallien Krueger 200MB combo, the predecessor to the MB150 E and S. Used it for a load of club gigs. Light and only slightly larger than the 12" speaker in it.
  22. Earth, Wine and Fire Darth, Wind and Fire Earth, Wind and Dire
  23. Is that neck actually recessed into the body at all, or is it just resting on top with some screws to hold it in place and a suitable dark area printed on the paper scratchplate?
  24. I'm not upset. Haven't had any import tax problems either - I did have to pay VAT on one bass from Vietnam once, about 20 years ago, but buying from AliExpress or Ebay that is all handled for you.
