They look lovely. The only purpose of the headstock is as an advertising hoarding to show the name of the maker, otherwise it just adds weight and unbalances the bass.

Hideous headstocks though, they should offer a headless option.

My Peavey Zephyr 5 had a 34" scale - the later Grind had a 35" scale.

Basses - somewhere in the 20s. Guitars - about 10. I'll be able to be more accurate when we have the spare oom cleared.

I had this problem when trying to play a file which was 48kHz instead of 44.1kHz. I used Audacity to convert it, after which it was fine. See page 12 of the owner's manual. Just checked the specifications section of the manual and it says Playback format WAV: 44.1kHz, 16/24 bit MP3: 44.1/48kHz, 32/64/96/128/192/256/320kbps I'm not sure about the MP3 though, but I can't remember if it was WAV or MP3 I had problems with

When I was with the ceilidh band, our dulcimer player had a brace of Appalachian dulcimers, tuned to G and D IIRC. Both were six-strings, three courses of two strings. He didn't have those extra frets but he did fret a drone string on occasion.

Seeing the price of JAN Is, I'm glad I picked up a couple of JAN I 5-strings for about a tenner each a few years ago. I'm surprised that they're five times the price of the JAN III.

I've got a ramp on my Sei Flamboyant 5 which I could take off but it doesn't seem to affect my playing either way. I also have a ramp for my Ibanez EHB which is sitting on my desk and will probably remain there.

A former band was doing some recording in Robanna's in Birmingham and I took in my Antoniotsai 5 (active) and Peavey Zephyr 5 (passive). I wanted to use the Tsai but the engineer had me recording in the control room and the vast amount of electronics in there finished up causing a buzz in it, so he offered me the use of a Fender P that was also in the control room. donkey the action was about 15mm at the 12th fret, I declined and used the Peavey (which was hum-free). Having owned a couple of Ps, I know they could play an awful lot better than that poor specimen.

The AT500 Cube combo is £1050 - a 9.5kg combo, and the AT800 (same as the AT500 but can also power an extension speaker) is currently out of stock so can't say what the price is.

Westone Quantum is a less rare cricket bat headless. I had one years ago, can't remember why I sold it as I'm pretty sure I was still playing 4-strings back then.

I think how F the first of the FRs is will be something that differentiates active bass cabs from active PA speakers, where for extended bass subwoofers would normally be used. Given that there still hasn't been any further word on the natural fibre cabs, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for further details.

Resistors can be 3-band or 4-band. They're normally 3 plus a tolerance band but you can get 4 plus a tolerance band. Might this have caused confusion?

Were the bands on the resistor the wrong colours?

My main gigging bass was a 5-string fretless Sei. My backup bass was a fretted Hohner B2AV. I occasionally swapped to it for a song or two. It is a very portable bass as it's so compact (not as compact as a folding bass).

IIRC, you can't get at vintage P bass truss rod adjusters without taking the neck off, no matter what tool you have.
