1. They seized some guitars....purely as part of the investigation I'm sure!!!
2. If its a MIJ, thats 85-86 If its a CIJ, thats a 97-98.
3. Any stamps on the CTS pots? (137****) Stamp on the neck heel?
4. Ask for a picture of the rear of the neck adjacent to the neckplate. i agree, the decal looks iffy, but I do know some genuine Jap Fenders did have just FENDER on the stock.
5. The combo I use at practice is one of the old school types and sounds wonderful. The new stuff is great when used in quantity. I was side stage with Norman Watt-Roy in London Excel 2 years ago and his sound was typical Trace with that great mid scoop that gets your lungs. Lovely bloke and lovely old Jazz that could tell some stories. Basically, the old TE stuff is better IMO.

Im with tomboy on this one, but STILL think it looks the bollocks!! It wont go above 5. My ears bleed.
7. Great basses chaps, would like to see more detail re the settees, origin, any mods etc??
8. Going on from Bassatnights post showing his luvverly collection of bassage, I feel the good old settee is the best catwalk for our instruments. I cant compete with his Sadowskys etc, but here goes: Basses by Fender Settee by Harveys Furniture.
9.
I dont know any real theory, but it sounds like you're describing passing notes that eventually resolve to a note in the key of the song. Great musical effect, gives it some tension.
Yes, its just a passing note en route to resolve to another note/chord in the key. As said, it offers tension and expectation to the song. Another example is in the Oasis classic Dont Look Back In Anger, supporting the lyric of; (G)Stand up beside the fireplace (Ab)Take that look from off your face (A)You ain't ever (G)gonna burn my (F)heart out (G) Wouldn't expect an Ab in a song in C maj. Well I wouldn't anyway just being a simple rock player. Im sure theres many jazz scales with a flattened 6th.
10. Feed The World - Dont They Know Its Christmas Time is a simple 4 chorder.
11. I can highly recommend these 2009 MIM models esp the P. I have the Arctic White model Build is A1 and the maple boards are really nice. GL in selling mate, a good price too.
12. your really going for the Ox sound with that setup gareth!!
13. My view is the Squier Classic Vibes are dearer than this. Most Mexs on the bay have gone for more than this i think.
14.
Sting is not, and never will be a "twat" when it comes to music. I don't really go for mainstream artists that go all folky (a gross simplification but you know what I mean). He tried some similar stuff on Mercury Falling and it wasn't really to my taste (especially the one that starts off like this and ends in 7/4 with a sax solo!) He's had a very distinguished and successful career in the Police and solo, and as he's not far off 60, I wouldn't expect him to be jumping round the stage to three-chord punk...
At no time did I refer to Mr Sumner as a "twat".
15. Doesnt matter how big or small it was, it was ample for the 5 notes he played on it during the whole performance. Looked a twat if you ask me.
16.
It's not that its missing, I just want to boost it to try and create a really subby/dancy sound. My current setup is an American Series S-1 Precision, Hiwatt Custom 200 and an Ampeg SVT810E.
Ah I see, OK. Agree with above, really need some 15s and dont change strings!!!!!!
17. why are you missing bottom end in the first place.? you cant effectively creat something that isnt there initially? whats your current setup?

19. Nice bass, nice lass and nice to see your nuts on the table infront of everyone!!!
20. why is there milk in your fishtank?
21. Agreed, the refin reduces its value IMHO, you could get a non refin for the same money I reckon.
22. had a similar experience in Thurrock with this "Chris", in the dark and all that!!!!! Top bloke. Neil
23. Beautiful mate, from a fellow JAE disciple. however, IIRC John used this model in the 80s, did he not?
24.
A feeler to see if there's any interest as I'm only really interested in selling to buy the Acme B2s that are for sale on the forum. If they go, I'll be happy to keep it! Here's the official blurb: http://www.genzbenz.com/?fa=detail&mid...=427&cid=96 900watts at 4 ohms. Condition wise it's 9.9 out of 10, just some light scuffing to the carpet cover, otherwise it's mint. As most of you know, the Genz Benz stuff is made to a very high quality and this thing handles high volumes at low tuning with no farting or complaints. It really is a good cab and only long term GAS is tempting me to sell it. Price wise, it cost me £400 including travel to buy it - I'd be looking for the same back. I'll get some actual pics up tonight if possible. Cheers, Ben.
How much? £400 new?
