Compressor advice
If you can go rack then the focusrite compounder is the daddy, and particularly handy for your needs since you can set up nice overall compression and a seperate (useful) limiter to squash those heavy duty snaps really well. Works brilliantly for me!
Do you run the signal thru Ch1 as a compressor, then link to CH2 as a limiter then out to the amp?
2. Plse PM me if you decide to move the multicomp on, I would like first dibs!!! Neil
3. I don't think the 20 somethings of today can do ANYTHING as well as their counterparts 20 yrs ago, whether it be socially, academically or whatever. If I could have a quid for everytime I hear a spotty oik say the word "like" in one sentence, I could avoid the recession altogether. eg. "Well, I was like walking down the road and this like, bloke came up to me and said like "Have you got the time please?" I thought , like, what? Like, Im the sort to wear a watch!"
4.
Yep - replacement neck and no logo...
Try Mike at http://www.thedecalshop.co.uk/
5. Technical Info Power Supply: Switch Mode Channels: 2 Power Output *(1.) 4 0hms: 2 x 400W 8 0hms: 2 x 230W 8 0hms Bridge Mono: 800W
6. Is it a Fender neck and body? If not, why do you want one?
7. Im still battling to find a compressor that is not too transparent, but really snaps the signal when kicked in. Ive tried some but they are too subtle eg Optostomp etc. I play mainly rock but on songs like Ashes to Ashes (Bowie) I do a little pulling and want the sound to be quite compressed. Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks Neil

9. can you post a photo? Is it 330 fu OR uf? If its uf, then its probably a capacitor of sorts, altho I agree the description sounds more like a resistor.
10. To the OP: You guys perhaps should dress more in the same style as yer lady there..... and possibly have a shot with her at the back or the side, not foreground. Nice clean pics tho!!
11.
I recently picked up the bass again after nine years concentrating on kids and mortgage payments. I used to use mainly Trace Elliot gear - it was reliable, loud and really nicely made. Since starting up again there seems to be a bewildering array of pro/high end gear, but Trace Elliot seems well out of the running now. Considering they were pretty much up there at the top how could they fall so badly and so far?
Dont worry Henry, there is loads of original TE stuff still available fortunately!!!! The new cabs are still great, but I do prefer the older amps.

SOLD

Just shows you what sodding around with the logo can do to your chances of selling an instrument! (Not you mate, the prev owner!)
14. My first Trace rig that i picked up from Maldon all those years ago was ex Wishbone Ash.
15. Ashdown are bringing out a cheaper range of the Lodestone models, made in Far East, China I think. Same spec but cheaper to make. Dunno bout prices. This was from ashdown themselves last time I spoke to my mate there.
16. Damn that finished far too early!!!!!!! Timeless music....
