Just been reading up & Sting did have a fretless Precision first (which he played blind on a gig with no fretless practise or experience!) Here's a pic of his Ibanez...
Aha! Found one. Is this the Precision you were looking for?

To avoid any grief for Kiwi and Ped etc, i strongly suggest the Getty Images pictures are removed from this post. GettyImages are a notorious outfit that serve letters of demand to ANYONE that uses their images without permission.
Trust me, Ive been there and there is loads on the net about their underhand tactics.

also, you own the forum, (probably only a few megabytes at most.), not us bunch of muppets.
Best saying you own a forum with the largest membership in Europe.
Try the amp using headphones, if it has a socket. That will give you an ideaif its a pre amp or power section problem.
More likely to be a blown filter (lo-hi pass) if this amp has one or a power amp problem.
Have you ever found that your playing your 2nd bass more than your primary weapon of choice?
I did..... its only a MIM P bass with Badass and US pups, but it weighs in nicely and plays great.
Signed photo of the best band in the world........
Circa 1982, I was at Wembley.
Nice blokes, although PT was very stoned.
Oh, and not really memorabilia, but my John Entwistle neckplate (laser etched) that adorns my Jazz and Precision basses.
This bass is 12 months old and absolutely pristine.
I will also include a soft gig bag and black scratchplate.

Will deliver within 10 miles for free.
Will post for for free.
Many thanks.
I had the same problem with my TE head.
I got one of these 19" rack shelves off the bay. I turned it upside down and put it ontop of the amp chassis. I then drilled holes in the shelf to line up with the threaded holes on the TE chassis. I then bolted the shelf to the top of the chassis.
worked great.

The amp then mounts into the rack perfectly

Great pre if you like a more flexible and modern sound over the trad sounds.
Thanks
