Do you mean setup in general rather than tuning? I check my tuning before every time I play, regardless of the ambient conditions.

The American site at least is aware of all these models, even if it is a little stingy with the detail.

In a case (and by case I presume you mean hard case) I can't see it making much difference. Furthermore, as I like to see and be able to pick up a bass whenever I want to, I have mine lined up in a rack, so I haven't really given it much thought.

Simple. Does the brand name begin with "F"? The big F will kill everything in the end and we'll live in a homogenised world of P, J and the occasional weirdo that slips out undetected

And the bass as a whole? There's something reassuringly industrial about it. It isn't pretty, but it will sure as hell get the job done.

I submit that the latter G&L headstock is vastly superior to previous efforts. To me, the old ones look like prototypes or even afterthoughts. A blob with tuner holes in it. All just my opinion, of course. And if you don't like the spike then you can always cut it off and you'll end up with something akin to an early SB-2 headstock, if that's your bag I've said too much - bye!

I like the "eye gouger" headstock - way better and much more distinctive than the "drawn by a 5 year old" one which came before it

I own an Indonesian built G&L Tribute L-2000 and apart from a few very minor cosmetic issues (like the tuner backs not quite lined up straight) I won't have a bad word said against it - frets/neck good, same pickups as USA model, decent hardware, a solidly put together bass.
