1. +1 for the MXR M80 D.I.plus - I Love my one. Also a big up for the Sadowsky pre-amp/D.I. pedal - a REALLY nice bit of kit that I use all the time.
2. Hi eude, Looking good there fella, well done! Happy New Year to ya, JTB
3.
OBBM. Nuff said... http://www.bassic.co.uk/
+1 He's the Man.
4. I thnk that photo is from the last night of the tour, in their hometown, isn't it? Maybe he broke out an old friend for a blast?!
5.
... On EB Slinkys at the moment...
Same here and love them.

7. I'm using the Jim Dunlop 'Double D' straps now, amongst others (Get'm Get'm & generic 1" leather jobbie) Got them all Schaller straplock'd up aswell! Have a look HEREat the J.D. one
8. I needed to fit some Schaller straplocks to my strap and had to widen the hole in the strap to 10mm to get the threaded bit through OK. A bit extreme, but a hollow punch heated up red hot with a blow torch went through the leather like butter and left a perfect hole, cauterized to boot! Brute force (or heat in this case) and ignorance prevails once again!!! Yee ha! edit:spelling, Timothy
9.
Hmmm.... maybe i'll have to come up with a better idea to make my millions.
Dunno about that Coasterbass, I like the idea of the remote controller and think the off/bybass switch to stop anyone else remote controlling your amp is the one. What about having nothing but a motorised Master Volume on the amp front (like a hi-fi) with all the other controls remote controlled and shown on a digital display? (which could also be a touch screen for 'lost remote' times). The remote could have a 'port' on the front of the amp for storage and charging. JTB
10. Hi eude, I'm with the straight line idea as well. Looking good there Mate, and I know exactly how you're feeling this close to the line! Cheers, JTB
11. You could get a signal splitter to feed 2 combos from your one bass. There are various options available.
12. My 2p's worth is that we'll never truly know what the players are using. There's a whole other side to instrument building called 'Ghost Building', where a luthier will replicate a guitar or bass for people but to a better standard or different specs while looking like a normal piece. Slash must be one of the more famous ones - the Gibson Les Paul he used on Appetite For Destruction was a replica made by a man at a shop in California, but for intents and purposes it looks like a nice Gibson 1959 LP re-issue! Interesting reading about it can be found Here
13. Get back out rehearsing, gigging & recording - it's been waaay to long.
14.
Thanks Birdy - the "behind the notes" video is also excellent, and Roger talks extensively and openly about the setup of Sadowsky basses.
Is that available to watch online Toasted?
15.
That £800 ish that I don't have!
+1
16. What d'ya reckon this will go for Clarky? £800-ish?
17.
...Damn.. is this GAS begining??
Yessir, you're done for! Curious on this one myself TBH. Maybe even a SD Vintage pup to make it sound 'classic'?
18. Nice one Birdy, Very good, I enjoyed that a lot. JTB

Hi

Welcome indeed. Have fun and see you around!
20.
Enabling members to flog things they no longer want to other members, regardless of the item, makes sense to me. It's not like our only interests and hobbies are all bass related, after all.
+1 to that. Also what about a 'Misc. Wanted' section? Could be a log in only jobbie.
21. Have had this myself in the past. I found warming up properly before a gig and making a conscious effort to try and not grip the pick so hard while playing helps.
22.
Finally bought this and was pleasantly surprised at how they've (finally) pushed their envelope a bit. More song variety, textures, counter-rhythms etc. And some nice bass lines. OK, it's a bunch of old Bobs doing their schtick for the 99th time, but much more adventurous than the last few albums. Whether it matches Back in Black or Highway to Hell is debatable, but give it time. For a bunch of blokes pushing 60, not bad. If you've heard it, what do you think?
+1 to all of the above. Respect to the Acca Dacca!!!
