1.
I have a Duncan active APB-1 that I could swap for your bridge pickup. It's nicer than the SPB-2, IMO.
Hi Stevie, Got one of those already thanks. Also I would like to trade the P'ups as a set rather than split them at this stage. Thanks for enquiring though, JTB
2.
On a related note, I was somewhat surprised to see the 'new' Duff McKagan signature basses are nowhere near as nice as the original Japanese 'Jazz Bass Special' that he uses. I bought my original Power Jazz Bass Special - a 1989 model for 200 quid from the US.. the new signature one I believe is a lower spec MIM costing £500. I think i'd rather buy another Jap model as it will be far close to Duff's original.
I thought Duff has been using Fender Custom Shop made Jazz Specials for years now?
3. How about a pre amp 'pedal' type unit (MXR, Sans Amp, Sadowsky, Aguilar, etc) into a power amp?
4. Now sold. Thanks, Jon.

Here's my Lifer, my first 'decent' bass. It's a 1998 USA P bass. I played it the other day for quite a while and what can I say...the old slippers! She ain't going nowhere
6. In my experience I've found alternately listening through headphones and the speakers helps when mixing to balance the mix a little better. It takes away the room reflections, and although not ideal, gives you a direct sound. Good luck!
7. I plug my P bass into a Sadowsky pre amp pedal and then into a Mesa Boogie Bass 400+ rig and it sounds really nice, as it does through the various different (solid state) stacks and combos at rehearsal places. IMO I think it's another 'ear of the beholder' situation! The only thing I do dislike with the valve amps is the the bloody re-valving costs
8. I Wanna Be Sedated - The Ramones, Wishing Well - Free, The Last Fight - Velvet Revolver.
9. Right now - Bob Marley & The Wailers - Exodus (Deluxe Edition) Very, very good album.
10. I would replace Duff McKagan in Guns N Roses for some good and dirty rocking!
11. That's a beaut Clarky, good job you never showed me this when I was at yours. It would match my S'burst n maple P bass sooo well!!!
12.
It's not just you. He's a massive c*nt. And a sh*t drummer. For absolute comedy gold, get hold of the St Anger DVD and marvel at him failing to keep up with the other guys in any of the songs.
I see people call him a sh!t and/or lazy drummer all the time, and I don't get it. Where is his playing that bad? He's on some of the fastest and heaviest records & songs of all time and IMO sounds pretty damn good! JTB
13.
MB1. Professional Amp and Cabinet Recovering. Does anyone on the site know of any firm who offer such Services in the U.K. Many Thanks Martin.
Try these Guys: Zilla Music Not tried them but they look good. Cheers, JTB.

15. Here's to one of the good guys - Cheers! Bought Clarky's CIJ Sid/Simonon looking bass off him today. A thoroughly decent man to do business with and am well chuffed. Thanks Mate, JTB.
