1. Hi Folks, This is my dream bass. I'm potentially up for the gamble of a blind US import on it, if the seller will agree to it. What do you reckon, kosher or a turkey? You thoughts please. eBay link here! Regards, Jon.
2. Nice one on going for a nice P style bass. Thanks for the plentiful supply of pictures. Please do keep us up to speed with the build - I'm another one fancying a Warmoth build so am curious as to how it all goes. Cheers, Jon.
3.
It's like the sibling to my all white/maple precision Very cool Si
Any pics to salivate over Sibob?
4.
well cool, nice work! Just don't do gigs with unlit stages
Hi Clarky, I'll have to make sure I know the songs double good now, won't I... That or get a white n maple P to go with it...aaarrrggghhh must stop having these thoughts! Bad GAS, Bad GAS!!!
5.
That's really nice, Jon! Now, you're not going to let it go again, are you??
NO WAY!!! I felt gutted enough when it went before.
6. Hi Folks, Here's a good one for you. I bought this bass a couple of years ago from an Italian woman who (allegedly) originally got it new from a music shop in Brooklyn. The action was all over the place when I got it but it wasn't anything to worry about. It was promptly booked into the Bass Gallery to be modified (the Jazz P'up installation), new P P'up and a good setup: It came back playing and sounding absolutely fabulous (thanks men of the Gallery) Then earlier this year I sold it to Stingrayfan who changed the pickguard: Then with a twist of fate I got to buy this fabulous bass back. To celebrate, and as I liked the 'stealth' look of the black and rosewood P basses, I decided to take it to another level with a Black Badass 3 bridge & Black knobs Cheers, Jon.
7. Hi All, As the title says really! I'm liking the look of them but want to know more. Thanks, Jon.
8. Oh...no...GAS...attack... No offence intended here, but is £1k a good price? I know nothing about their value you see.
9. Anyone on here know much about Alleva Coppolo P basses? Our American friends seriously wax lyrical about them! They look flippin expensive too!!!
10. I've just learnt... Creeping Death by Metallica!
11.
Mike Lull P http://www.mikelull.com
Very nice!
12.
Celinder probably do the best one, but despite what people have said to me when iv said this before, i just cannot imagine whatsover that they would be worth all that money. end of the day, its a p bass!
Anyone know what the approx 'street' price is on a passive Celinder P bass? I had a look at the Celinder website but there ain't no pictures, specs, etc on there just a home page! Anyone on here got a Lakland USA Bob Glaub?
13.
you could say the Yamaha Attitude is a P clone too.
Is it up there with the best of 'em though? Also is it passive?
14.
You've got enough Ps - you don't need any more.
It's curiosity with a pinch of GAS that's got me wondering.... Anyway you can never have enough P's, can you???!!!
15. Just to re-kindle this topic a bit... In your opinion/experience what are the best high end, Passive, Precision bass style basses out there? Are the Fender C.S. P's the ones?, Celinder?, Lakland USA Bob Glaub? Help me out here Folks! Pictures anyone? Cheers, Jon.
16. My 2p... Rock. 1. Guns N Roses - Appetite For Destruction, 2. AC/DC - Highway To Hell, 3. Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin 2. Metal. 1. Metallica - Master of Puppets, 2. Slayer - Reign In Blood, 3. Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath.
17. Here's my board Folks. It's a Diago lid off jobbie. The signal hits the tuner first, so that I can kill it to tune up/change basses etc, and then goes into the Lehle D.Loop pedal. I've got the Sadowsky pre & Boss Bass Chorus running through 1 loop for my clean sound and the other loop goes through the MXR D.I.+ for distortion. All works well when used in anger! Let me know what you think, Cheers, Jon.
18. I know that man Mr.Mann!! Hey Phil you keeping well Mate? Cheers, Jon.
19.
Hi Jon, It's been resprayed. In pic 7 you can see the paint filled screw holes by the bridge. In pic 6 the machine head screw slots look like they've been moved a few times and the G machine head post screw doesn't match with the D machine head post screw. The D bridge saddle screw isn't original. For an "original" bass there are too many questions. I wouldn't buy it.
Hi Chris, Just read what you and all the Guys here are saying and had another good look at the pic's... Am going to pass on this one! I don't think I could shell out without trying it anyway. Thanks & Cheers, Jon
20.
The pickguard and case aren't original - the correct guard was probably black. Lord knows what's going on with the D screw on the bridge... it's a bit long! The tuners and serial number seem to be correct. As for value... £750 is high-to-reasonable if it's a great player. The BIN is the dictionary definition of 'optimism', IMO.
Nice one WoT. I knew the 'guard and case aren't original but thanks for eye-balling the rest of it for me. Jon
21. My £0.02 worth... I've used Behringer amps & cabs at my local rehearsal rooms for a couple of years now. The rooms are usually set up with a Behringer amp and 2 x 1x15 Behringer cabs. They get pummeled 12 hours a day/7 days a week and seem to be holding up OK and sound alright.
22. Hello Folks, What do you reckon to this - '76 P on t'Bay I am VERY interested but don't know enough about 70's Fenders to know whether it would be a worthwhile buy... Wot d'ya reckon?! Thoughts please, Cheers, Jon.
