1.
I'm a bit late to this thread but yes someone here did buy it. ME! And yes it is a bit special. If anyone wants to know anything about them give me a shout.
Any pics up on here yet tonyxtiger?
2.
One or two Barefaced Compacts. Usually one.
Nice one Kirky - I have 2 Barefaced Compacts too and like to use 2 at all times LOL!
3. For me - Slash, Joe Perry or Jimmy Page.
4.
Did you just get that from the Gallery per chance ? http://www.thebassga...e=Bass%20Guitar
No, I have it in there on a commission sale LOL!
5. Here's mine:
6.
Will consider a part-exchange on this bass - anyone want to trade?
Rob, What sort of thing will you trade against - Makes, Models, Amps?
7. I would go for something like a Barefaced Big Twin for that amp. Depends whether you want a mid driver and/or a tweeter for higher frequency extension. If not from my experience I would go for 2 x Compacts as they can really pump it out LOL! Good luck.
8.
anything relicd or artifically roadworn
This. Especially Bravewood Guitars for me.
high-end, audiophile, oxygen-free copper, NASA-designed coaxial, Wooten-endorsed cables
And this with the power cable variety rounded up with them!
9. In a word - No. I would recommend wading through Alex's Tech. Info and asking lots of questions on here about what you are unsure of. http://barefacedbass.com/technical-information.htm All the best, Jon
10.
So do we all like the sound of a single payment for a one off advert and the option of a single yearly payment?
If this will keep BC up and running nicely then Yes.
11. The DeTemple guitars are eye watering amounts of money (US$6k and up!) so this bass will be a pretty penny!
12. A good read is this: http://www.dpamicrophones.com/en/Mic-University/The-Essentials.aspx Cheers, Jon
13. For me it would be a Masterbuilt Precision - Fiesta Red, B/W/B Pickguard, Fretted Dark Rosewood or Ebony 'board with just side dots, Black painted neck, Black hardware, Early 70's logo in white!
14. A useful read on the subject: http://barefacedbass...ythbusters1.htm
15. IMO It is just a TV show. No likey, no watchey!
16. Hi lloyd, Interested in a trade with a MarkBass SA450? PM if so please, Cheers, Jon
17. Thanks for the quote of the dim's Roland Rock. That's too big for me to store at the moment which is a shame
18. Hi All, Can one of you fortunate enough to own one of these please measure it's L, W & D for me in CM's? I have very limited gear storage space and also want to see how it will sit on a Barefaced Compact. I have looked on the website but couldn't find anything on there. Many thanks, Jon.
19.
... I hear bad things about Watford Valves.
I have found them to be rubbish with online/email contact put absolutely brilliant over the phone in terms of advice and stock availability.
20. I see the Natural Jeff Ament bass is sold at Bass Direct - Anyone on here buy it? Would love to hear all about it if so... http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Lull_JAX_T_4_Ash.html
21. Steve that Boogie 2x18" looks great and dwarfs your 2x15" - Love it
22. Bassbiscuits/Chris sent be just over a dozen picks for free! Many thanks and nothing but praise for the man.
23. I'm another that thinks the old MB 400+ sound cannot be replicated. The closest I've heard is the POD simulation so maybe that into a power amp may get you very close?
24. Sadly it's been neither for me the last four years due to erratic work hours I have done mostly originals bands in the past and a smattering of covers more recently but I'm looking to get going again once I've sorted myself out with a car again.
