2.
Why didn't they just buy a p/j to begin with?
Kind of my thinking too 40Hz, especially at CS priced instruments. I am enjoying the opinions from both sides of the fence on this one though.
 3.
...To be honest I found the overpriced other P bass he's got for sale more bemusing
Wow, hadn't seen that. He's almost as good as that other guitar modding Bloke
 4. First up, apologies if this bass is a fellow BC'ers bass and what I'm going to say is only my opinion The 2 things that stand out for me is why modify a rare Ltd. edition CS P bass like that to start with and to then go and try to sell it on asking £3k for it... 5. Ooh, look at the flamed maple neck on that. Very nice and GLWTS.
 6.
11 in total - all Precisions.
Steve, that's legendary but I can't talk I have 4: Fender CS P/J Fender USA P strung with flats Lakland USA Bob Glaub Warmoth J/P
 7. Sorry for the crap pic's but here's my Masterbuilt P/J bass by Jason Smith. It is a '59 P bass that has these twists - Black Pearl finish, Chrome pickguard, Jaco J bridge pickup, Vol, Vol, Tone Controls, Side mount jack, Badass II bridge & early 70's logo.
 8. Just sold Simon a preamp and it couldn't have been a smoother transaction. Cheers, Jon
 9. Hello all, Now sold. Thanks for looking. 2006, Olympic White, Rosewood fretboard, (non-original) Tortoiseshell pickguard, (non-original) Bare Knuckle Pickups Irish Tour pickup set. There's been a wiring mod done so that the 2nd tone knob controls the bridge pickup as opposed to the the middle pickup as well. Much more useful IMO. Complete with trem arm (which is slightly bent but fits and works OK) and a gig bag (no hard case sadly). 8.33 pounds/3.78 kilos in weight on my digital luggage scales. It's a 60th Anniversary version which has a badge on the back of the headstock showing you that! Condition is 8/10. A few minor dings from general use but that's it and they are pictured. Frets are good with plenty of life left in them. It plays and sounds great.
 10. My gold 'guard:

 21.
...I do agree though that there is nothing that provides the grit and pure slam of a valve amp - and it has to have valve pre AND power stages in my humble opinion - a valve pre into a SS power stage just doesn't sound the same.
+1 This is pretty much it for me too opinion wise. The pedals, pre-amps & sims are great tools but a cranked up valve amp is something special. If I had the money, space & spine for a big valve amp then I would most definitely have a Matamp GT200 or an Ampeg SVT-2 Pro, maybe both to pick and choose from
