So, I recently found this man out in California's website/blog who makes really good looking custom repro tort guards. Just not for Fender basses yet (they are coming through ASAP). Anyway, I dropped him an email and his name is Mark and the company is called Spitfire Vintage Tortoiseshell Pickguards. [/quote] Hi Lou, I have the MXR M80 DI+ & a Sadowsky pre amp pedal. As you say the M80 is great sounding and has great features. I use the Sadowsky for my clean sound and the M80 for my dirty sound though but would happily use the M80 for clean too. GAS is a terrible thing

So, manufacturing location aside this pickup sounds absolutely fantastic and does what it should so I can only recommend the Kent Armstrong WPU900BP Humbucker size P90 with a back plastic cover. I bought mine from WD Music who are the exclusive dealer and they had the unit in stock and ready to go. Can't be bad! [size=1]edit:Grammar![/size]

I'll keep you posted as to how it sounds! My other plan is to go for a Fralin P-92 if this one doesn't work out.
