1. i always tend to prefer stage left especially on a smaller stage mainly to avoid twatting any other band members with the headstock or accidentally adding extra unwanted percussion
 2.
I would rather go for a £200ish Squire, Vintage or similar fretless & play with for a month or so before I altered my dream bass if it suits then go ahead, you'll get your money back on the cheapo no problem.
this definitely personally i always think that defretted basses look a bit naff and that even the best craftsmanship can still result in something looking like a sixth form woodwork project (stands back and waits for incoming)
 3.
Had a similar experience. The bloke in the shop checked his online catalogue and wasn't able to find much. Fender, Squire and Vintage Jazz basses. Mostly 'Jaco' style too. Reckon a wee shake up is needed - love Jaco's stuff, but have no desire to play a tatty looking bass with a missing scratchplate!
they're not all relic'd you could easily throw a nice tort plate on there too
 4. gratuitous bump
 5.
One tip for restoring rusted chrome is to use an acid to return some of the corroded metal back to metal - coke can work well for this. Also, once your neck is sufficiently clean, I wouldn't use lemon oil for further cleaning as it dries the wood.
+1 for the coca cola (works on rust stains in textiles too)
 6. you can usually pick up a hartke 15 cab for around 100 the vx115 has paper cone and is very warm and also has a tweeter but you could disconnect - the 115 xl has no tweeter but has aluminum cone but still has a warm tone - have used both and thoroughly recommend plenty of bang for your buck with hartke hartke also do 2x15's in both paper and ally cones if you want to keep your skinny string guitarists in check
 7. thanks have emailed in now too
 8.
Nah. Provided you're organised and know when you have to change you'll be able to do it in about 5 seconds while the singer is introducing the next song.
this oh and the guitarist will always be faffing about with settings too and usually twice as long as the singer takes to introduce the next number
 9. great backing - shame about the vocals

 16.
The OP has already answered that..!
yes yes but you cant blame us for not noticing when we're all so busy trying to spot the fictitious lesbanians
 17.
When I saw the title i thought you must have known! Gigging at a local pub known to be a bit "lively" last Saturday, we were treated to a pair of very drunk girls grabbing the mics, falling over monitors, spilling drinks over the front line. Gave em the hard word and they behaved a bit better. Next thing, 4 guys descended on them and much snogging, groping etc. Next thing the 2 girls started snogging each other for ages - cue giddy lads, hand in pants - YIKES!!! Eventually the rest of the dancers bundled them off the dancefloor. I berated them but to be honest they didn't care. Ended up all 6 leaving doubtless we'll see the end product on Jeremy Kyle at some point in the future. Dirty twisters!
what venue is this please? is just that a friend was asking you see
 18. well if youre not going to put any artistic pictures up we will probably have to book a cheap last minute all inclusive stag do special weekender to lesbania see what you did?? all that money could have been spent on basschat polo shirts!
 19. sharing the love for candyrat records - any other fans on here? they have some great artist (including Andy McKee) check this out http://youtu.be/6YrQ_OyCeuE
 20. yes just checking alright voted in your competition so wheres the hot action?
 21.
Nige, I ignored this bit first time around but now that it's been re-quoted (approvingly) I feel I have to point out the elephant in the room. The plumber isn't plumbing because he/she likes plumbing and because plumbing is fun and sexy and fulfilling and leads to a great social life and some really cool experiences. They do it for the money.
some would say they do it because they see it as a licence to print money
