look at all this confusion ime this is because it was most likely played on a P with a pick now if it had been fingers on a J ..... anyways, here is a video clip from last year of our young chanteuse who will be performing said song about the lady and the motorised conveyance http://youtu.be/IMyerGq1Jjk hopefully we will be debuting the car/girl/song on 1st may so i may be able to add a post to the 'show us you playing thread'
Our singer (another young 'un) loves that song as well, tried explaining to her that we were all sick of it but in the end it's easier just to do the damn song. Annoyingly it still goes down really well. At least it's not Summer of '69....
yes this and to answer Bilbo, our young singer doesnt have any major creative input into the set list contents - considering she has to be familiar with 70+ songs in our set list as either lead vox or back vox it is small consellation to let her pick a tune she likes and wants to sing

i made it right to the end not too shabby is it
Song about cars and girls..isn't that Prefab Sprout?
you read my mind sir i keep noodling this at rehearsals trying to drop subtle hints - no luck yet though so please keep your fingers crossed y'all thank you
Good for her!! It's a cracking song and the crowds love it. Spot on.
yes i agree - its a great one to play imho mcton ymmv blah blah etc and i have the added bonus of not being forced to make the difficult decision of whether to play it on a P or a J because i have 2 J's so a J it is then

NAME AND SHAME please, would be rude not to -
Is it the big chunky gotoh bridge? I got one of these and sunk it into the body so the baseplate sits flush with the body.

Add it to google as a review
Thanks for posting, fellow CAT man! IMHO it was awesome, and I look forward to the album. Though, through my crappy headphones it sounded like a lot of processing and synths were part of it. Will revisit with good headphones later
yes i did notice that too - when you have the jerry hey horns playing you really do not need to double the horn line on synth would i be correct assuming that david foster was producing this?

Anyone ever seen a condescending advert for a bassist?
steve-bbb replied to Greggo's topic in General Discussion
The Emperor has got no clothes on ! Bowie hasn't made a decent album since Lets Dance, but he does still turn out the odd decent track that makes you realize what we we all missing out on . Should try harder , and could do so much better.

Come on, I haven't liked anything since Tonight but The Next Day is an absolute quality album!
yes this - all that tin wotsit thingy was bloody dire with only a handful of decent songs scattered in amongst what is undoubtedly a very bland portion of his catalogue from earthling to reality but next day is rather good imho mcton etc if he follows his track record then hopefully next day will be the first of another run of good albums which leads me on nicely to a lame excuse to post my favourite track from said long player ... the tension in this track is palpable http://youtu.be/ROYKdwUba2k -
Unless of course it turns out to be David Bowie, but, realistically, he is unlikely to be placing an ad on the uni noticeboard, even after the crap he's been turning out for the last thirty years.
How very dare you! -
Wunjo's Bass centre - Great service and NBD!
steve-bbb replied to Shockwave's topic in General Discussion

Looks lovely ! what year is it? even some of the squiers can be hit and miss too - i saw a blue affinity J identical to mine in Wunjos a while back that was new but the finish was nowhere near the quality of mine which is 2009 - form what can tell from your pics this one looks rather nicely finished bring it along to the south east bass bash and we can set up out own little budget corner lest our lovely squiers should be contamined by the proliference of kingbasses and various other fad gadgets
Doesn't feel as substantial as a Fender branded one, but I guess that's just a difference in the materials they're made from.
would agree with this too but with some replacement pups they can sound way above their true price range here's mine complete with scratchplate that makes it look like i smoke 80 a day -

Bass Player wanted for Session Work (Vegetarian)
Yeah f*** corn syrup. And f***ing palm oil. And why don't peeps eat butter anymore? Because they were taught to eschew healthy natural products and eat that sh*t the gub'nint says is healthy - highly processed, toxin-rich f***ing sh*t like Olivio.
real proper actual genuine butter is, weight for weight, just about the cheapest option now compared to all the artificial 'tub of grease' alternatives is a sad indictment of society that people will pay more for a less healthy artificial alternative PS can i have the gig now please i promise i will only have a sneaky bacon sandwich while nobody is looking using artisan baked bread and bacon from responsibly farmed piggies
