1. i recently replaced my hartke XL115 that i sold but wish i hadnt with a hartke VX115 lots of lovely fat bottom but the VX has the pesky horn and it was extremley bright on the highs and then some so i opened up the back plate - the wiring was extremley tight no flexibility or slack cable not even enough to remove the back plate completely without total disassemble, so i could just about manage to peek inside and identify the wire going off in the direction of the horn - so i snipped the two blue wires assuming clean cut and nothing else dangling nearby and no risk of shorting or anything - is there no risk with this procedure ie affecting the impedance of the 15 driver or anything else? ta muchly edit - am guessing the big fat beast and the tiny irritating horn are in parallel so no issues???
 2. sheeesh radio stations and their playlists so bloody fickle - this guy has been around for a few years and pretty much 'mainstream ignored' but we can just about forgive their crass commercial ways when they occasionally latch on to something this good (radio2 have been giving it airplay lately and it seems to be slowly catching on at last)
 3.
I don't really like playing other people's basses because they are usually covered in their sweat, snot and DNA
really?? i can quite imagine bigredx might have this issue with dastardly dick venom but most of us make a conscious effort to stay at least two arms lengths away from our drummer at all times, no?
 4.
[pedant] No, this will give the volume. The weight will depend on the specific gravity of the bass and its components. A hollow bass will displace the same volume as a solid, but will weigh less (typically...). [/pedant] Anyway, it's not a Good Idea to dip a whole bass (instrument; not the fish...) in water; they don't like it up 'em...
if it feels too heavy you could always ask a friend to hold it up while you play it
 5.

tell them to fill a bath to the brim with water
drop the bass in to bath
collect all the water that overflows
weigh the water
this will be same as the bass (mass actually but for practical purposes tell them it's weight so as not to confuse them any more than they are already
hope this helps
 6.
but maybe we should cut guitarists some slack re getting right level, tone, gain, etc
err ....let me think ..................................... nope
 7. it's the bbot it is evil and contains gremlins remove it your problems will be solved hope this helps
 8.
No. The people who say "my camel never goes out of tune" are the crazy ones. Seriously though, my Status is bombproof. It's the only bass I have that I would be confident playing without tuning it first.
yes this plus two
 9.
it's about being rock steady
yes defnitiely this - and if the drummer and bass player are spot on then even a mediocre guitarist can get away with murder
 10.
Just playing the thing knocks it out of tune a bit after all.
what are you playing it with? a tennis racquet?
 11.
Is that the one in the corner..??? I can't think why anyone would want to sit there, but tbf, Neil has quite a lot of regulars these days....
maybe he could start a blue-collar boxing night for thehallowed prize of the corner table
