6. sorry to all the kiss fans for being harsh but watching his left hand looks like he only picked up the bass for the first time 70 minutes ago rather than been playing since the 70s - whilst not expecting berlin or pattitucci levels of technique is it not reasonable to expect that after 40 plus years of playing his left hand would demonstrate at least some finesse regardless of the complexity of the lines he is playing?
7. whilst stumbling around youtube this evening i just found this and i thought i would post it for mister milty's delight and delectation of a rather smashing example of simple stuff being played in the most exquisitiely expressive manner sorry its not bass .... again ... but it is paul jackson jr
8.
Could you provide an example of proper funk as I'm not getting it - a musical limitation I hope to overcome...
http://youtu.be/d-dRRbIWRQc

14. i would only entertain it if he was prepared to meet in person to check the bass is all ok and verify he is one and the same as in t'video before any agreement for a sale or any payment was made edit - buy a good squier and drop a wizard in it and save yourself 800-900 beer/gas tokens
15. stick your energy up on the status porn thread nice colour ergo!
16. not bass but to illustrate the point to mister milty skip forward to about 4:25 and wait for the guitar solo - there is a lick at 4:59-5:01 the lick is simplicity itself but in the hands of allan holdsworth the simplicity becomes irrelevant because the phrasing is sublime http://youtu.be/Ibz3xCiTO0M
