5.
Wow! Someone knows about Hildegunn Gjedrem! She was on TV here some time ago, but no-one knows of her. I seem to remember she lives in America but is Norwegian. The voice control and rhythm sense somehow reminded me of Cassandra Wilson, though she resembles Des'ree more in style, by the first look of it. Good call!
i found the link on snarky puppy faceache feed - seems like the snarks are her backing band too as she is on the ground up label

 11.
What sort of numbers might we get?
six days out of seven says it will be raining
 12.
It's not playing music that's the main issue, it's my relationship with it. Everything I do, I put music first. If I go to church I think about how the music/sound could be improved, when I go to bed I put music on, when I get spare time I play an instrument. This is put before anything else that should be on my list.
so learn to prioritise and then learn to accept that it is not any sort of failure or underachievment that quite often many things whilst not perfect, are fine 'just as they are' imperfections and peculiarities are sometimes the best descriptive tools for capturing the nuances and subtleties of a given situation this is after all 'the human condition'
 13.
That was fun but: It shows how insignificant the later Jamiroquai bass lines are. And he gets the Super Freak bass line wrong and labels it 'U Can't Touch This'. Which is unforgivable. I haven't listened beyond that point. Edit: I listened a bit further and realised he's learned a lot of these tunes from tab and not actually listened to the originals at all. Pretty poor. I wouldn't go as far as to chop his fingers off but if he put his fingers in front of me and begged me to do it I probably would. And he probably should.
yes and did you notice the trill at the end of the 'Are you gonna be my girl' was slightly overcooked
 14.
He's about 20. Give him a chance!
hmmmm overall about 10% JQ , still could be worse call be all RHCP ..... oh wait ...... only 20? didnt realise/guess etc - must admit the only clip ive seen him on is the internet duets with viaceslav svedov http://youtu.be/31IotDQCjqE

 17.
I am an ex-Christian (the whole evangelical 9 yards) and this sounds horribly familiar. Something that you really enjoy, not 'sinful' as such but takes up a lot of your time and commitment: serious competition for the big G. So you pack it in, you've made a sacrifice, bit of kudos from your fellowship, but the warm glow won't take away the sick feeling that tells you you've made a mistake that's difficult to reverse. I'm not going to try to convince you that Christianity is a crock, you need to find your own way on that one, but the at the end of your post says it all.
this you could apply your reasoning and argument to any facet of your daily activities - why pick on music? have all those years of practice and performance really been so fruitless and futile? edit - why not pick on basschat? look at the amount of time we all fritter away on here!

 19.
What's a squeeler box?
i do believe the OP is referring to that wretched device that the guitarer unfailingly seems to always have set far too loud

 21.
That's right, they were playing as I arrived. In fact they were near the end of their set as I recall.
I saw the whole set as arrived at about 8am

 23. even thinking about singing whilst playing throws my playing out had somebody come up during a song once trying to ask for a request and even thinking about answering her was just too much and i eventually ended up thinking 'go away i cant concentrate on playing and thinking about your question at the same time' and just ended up nodding in the general direction of the bandleader
