I think that it's more to do with the rhythm section than anything......
this .... but as much as i like hendrix i really cant get into the experience stuff the same way as the band of gypsys
+1 George Duke is a seriously great player
i know he is my all time top fave muso - personal preference i place him above zappa even - seen him twice at ronnie scotts - was sat so close i could have played his foot pedals for him
There's your way out lads - we've all played with keys players; we know your typical keys player is a feckless dandy. We'll be fine, our jobs are safe for another day
but then again that might be a bad thing cos we all know how keyboardies just love to copy and double our bass lines and muddy them up
-
not threatening at all imho - it will only sound as good as the musicianship of the keyboard player using it if youre demo-ing a new product like this you seriously wouldnt pick just 'any average' keyboard player - it is a very smart choice using george duke he has always been way above most players in his ability to write bass synth lines that transcend sounding as if they come from a keyboard

Set Fire To The Rain and Other Impossible Songs
steve-bbb replied to darkandrew's topic in General Discussion
Having been suitably inspired by the Adele song, I ventured out into the rain on Friday night and attempted to set fire to it. My only achievement was a soggy box of matches and a nasty sniffle. My only conclusion is that despite what Adele is advocating in her song, it is actually impossible to set fire to the rain and I am left feeling somewhat cheated - a feeling I hadn't experienced since I found out that the Beatles didn't actually all live in a yellow submarine. Has anybody else had a similar experience discovering that a song's lyrics are clearly impossible?
Adele stuff is easy 1 take one large pan of boiling water 2 one cute fluffy bunny 3 -

you'd need to open up the pdf file in acrobat pro or illustrator (thats assuming it hasnt been password protected and editing locked) and then loads of editing and rearranging so in a word unfortunately ...no! or render it up in a photo editor into a hi-res image and then cut and paste all the staves about to remove the unwanted tab ones and shift the others
My little un loves my guitars but is very careful around them. She's three now but I still love this pic.
soooooo cute ....... however ....... you're going to have to coax her out of that left hand pinkie habit or before you know it she'll start playing chris squire
anyone else here totally pissed off with musicians who play for free?
loads of people do lots of things for free - i particularly disapprove of the recent working practice culture which has forced itself on us where young graduates looking for work are expected now to be volunteering to work for free for a limited short period to demonstrate to a potential employer that they are worth taking on full time whilst i have had several jobs and have formal qualifications in things which i now find impossible to find employment in, it is a case of realising where you best talents lie - for me personally that is playing the bass and making things look pretty (aka graphic design) - a fair return for your efforts and skills is not unreasonable but very occasionally there will be exceptions where it is done as a total freebie- i have played one gig for free this year as it was a local weekender fundraiser event and i occasionally do some design work for free but only for very good friends or charity
Does anyone know what the legal situation with these is, if there is a noise complaint, the police arrive and discover that you are able to play so loud because you've bypassed the device? I'm guessing that they'll shut down the gig there and then. However do they have the power to do more like confiscate your equipment?
unless there is some sort of disturbance in progress or pending it is unlikely police will attend - the noise policing is totally down to local councils - they should have an on call EH person especially on busy nights to be able to attend - it is usually they who call for police claiming that they fear the crowd will become violent and their safety will be threatened if they do their job
I am sure you wouldn't want to get involved in all that corporate stuff that sometimes comes with an endorsement.
does it pay more than JSA ? -

-
That is nice but I'm looking at lessons rather than arrangements
i posted that one because it is the complete piece - if you look on his youtube channel you will find the tutorial for it and other stuff
