1. It probably involves cloaks secret handshakes and mumbling ancient runes..... Or maybe just lederhosen a good ole thigh slapping and plenty of steins of zee best German lager.... You only find out when you buy one... Apparently....
2. Thank you!
3. I have a set of 8CBP the classic bass sound in my H1-P, its very even and quite dark.... I"m very pleased with 'em... I'm not sure if they do teh same options with J, but they also do an S variant in teh P version which is more bassy.... that would be VERY dark..... Although I'm not sure thats availale in teh J varient...
4. Neeph.... Yep your right sorry, it was a badly phrased question. I have mine on charge (I think) ornage light on but not switched on... deos it go out when the internal cell is fully charged? Thx.
5. OK chapsters.... Having just acquired one of these... (curiousity) does plugging in teh external power source charge teh internal battery as well? Or does that only happen thru the mini USB port?
6.
Hi , I am looking for some jazz bass passive pickups , and am after a smooth , dark tone , any suggestions ?
Barts and flatwounds.....
7. Just type out a nice descriptive add with a couplle of pics and post it in the AMPs section....
8. Jono.... I agree all the way down.... I also admit that I was not a big fan of gold hardware until the Ovation turned up.... http://www.ovationguitars.com/index.cfm?fa...il&mid=1378 I had to hunt hig and low to get a gold jack socket (great move BTW as unitl I replaced it I had no idea how sh1te the old one was..) It looks well groovy, in a subtle way... However if I do ever find a black one to buy that may get Bob'd....
9.
Under no circumstances should you or anyone else use any of those three 'tutors'. You would be a lot better off travelling further for a lesson from a bass player once every month or so. The guy who thinks your hands are too small is an idiot, and the guy who says you're too old knows that adults will quickly spot that he's not a good teacher.
Absolutely agree with this. There is nothing as good as a good encouraging coach...HOWEVER... A bad one can do more damage in one session then a good one can ever achieve. Inca, there is some amazing talent on this forum and I'm sure one of our finest wil be along shortly to suggest someone near you. I would seriously consider not going back to this 'guy'..... as it sounds like a complete waste of time and money.
10. Anyone know of a dealer/ retailer that has the WHOLE Gotoh rang here in the UK? I'm after a specific knob.... Lots of shops sell similar copies but I need the exact one.... (My babies deserve the best..!) Those that only sell parts of teh catalogue... Allparts Axes r us WD music
11. Just bought a Tascam thingy wossit off Sug. Very easy to get on with and gear looked hardly used.... Left some odd MP3s on it tho..... Kidding... Top bloke.
12. Now now play nicely.... I dont like greeen either but thats not to say EVEYONE doesnt like it..... Its cracking cheap if someone does tho'....
13. IMO... Theres good Ps and Theres cheap Ps but, Theres no such thing as a cheap good P...... You get what you pay for. If its cheap and cheerful treat it as such and dont EXPECT it to be a 78 US P.
14.
Great job and I don't even like Fenders !! This could be a new business for you. Get a Fender and have it Burpstered Makes you wonder why Fender can't do these kind of changes themselves....
Ta mi duck.... Fender do have a custom shop...... but we know how much they charge......!!!!! Now then I just need some slightly longer screws for the bridge to get the intonation.....
15.
I've got to get it running first - it's been at my house with the SBFH for the last couple of years. Most irritating when the weather's so good and the commute so trafficy.
SBFH---? She speaks so highly of you....... Been there I'm afraid, not pleasent! You have my sympathy...!
16. BRX, its obviuosly a blondes v. brunettes thing..... Swampash gives me a semi thinking about it!
17.
I think Burpster means that the 8 ohm cab wouldn't work as an extention to his 4 ohm combo.
That was originally my intention.... However I could take the the amp out and run these...... (its a bit more hassle than I wanted, but now I'm thinking..... )
18. Dont do the exchange rate based on BoE rates, check with whichever card provider that you will use as these will be different from other rates!
19. Hummmn that is pretty.
20. Can you make your own? material isnt that dear......
21.
I'm really not sure whether I'm going to be able to make it after all. Work and a new house (well, it's my old house finally retrieved from the she-bitch from hell) are conspiring against me. I will if I can though.
get the bike out and have ride down, we can talk boll0x about bikes if nowt else....!
22.
No flaming here, just a bit of "constructive criticism"
Jolly good, keep it that way please..... I like folks to play nicely in my forums......
23.
I use a bass that suits my talent, so I could never ever justify paying a four figure sum for a bass - I ain't that good, so I have my Jazz, which is still better than I can justify but helps me strive to be better, and my cheapie fretless which actually sounds great for something that cost virtually nothing.
Isnt that a bit self deprocating? (AFWIW I think your a pretty good player!) I'd only been playing 8 months from scratch when I bought my 1st PRS. Its has me inspried to pick it up and play it every day (nearly 2 years later), irrespective of how I feel, all other basses I come across are judged by that one as a yardstick. I cannot think of, and have yet to come across a better commercially available bass. Using your analogy above I should still be using my Yamaha RBX 170, as I'm not a pro or even semi pro, therefore why should I have a pro instrument...... AFAIC any bass should sit there and scream at you.... "play me" if it doesnt, it doesnt matter if cost £3 or £3000 its no good for you unless you are a collector in which case different rules apply.
24.
They haven't leaked oil since 1991, and neither has my Warwick.
I wouldnt mind betting you use both wearing a flat cap and smoking a pipe filled with ready rub...... Kidding of course!
25. Were it this one..... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-RKS-Original-Sol...1QQcmdZViewItem You'd have one hand as teh other would have been snapped off!
