1. Congrats on the Am. Std. Jazz. It looks great man.
2.
Hubba hubba, great vintage looking rig there gsg.
Hello Lozz! Thank you sir. First and most important, HAPPY NEW YEAR, to you. Since you're 2016 gets going before mine does. I like the sounds I'm getting out of the Bassman setup. The Precision, and the Jazz don't seem to be as particular for what amp they're played through. Yeah,…….. I've always liked the traditional Fender Bassman look. You know how old men are.
3. I pulled the trigger on the Fender: Super Bassman / Bassman 410 Neo. Great sounds, and easy enough to move around. The Bassman 410 Neo is 55 lbs. A nice compact size also, that fits in the backseat of a Toyota Corolla S, with no issues. Both channels on the Super are very easy to set, and a footswitch comes standard with it. My Jazz sounded very good through it.
4. RIP Lemmy. You'll be missed.
5. I am GASSING about maybe going back to a Fender Bassman 500 head.
6.
Lovely Precision. Original guard?
Thank you. No, I changed out the PG from the original factory Tort.
7. I had GAS for an Am. Std. Precision, but I ran out of GAS when I got this.
8. You get the right strings on a Gibson, and it will play as well as any other bass. And at lower tones too.
9. It makes it easier replacing speakers that are the same brand for the cab. The same brand speakers are more similar to each other.
10. 10 Screws on the PG, is proper amount for most newer Jazzes. Nice wood on your GL. I just got one in Black, and changed out the PG, and strings.
11. The original song, "Strange Brew", was played with a Fender VI Bass.
12. The Am. Std. Precision is showing. (now I guess).
13.
Make sure they give you the shim, mine came without, they said it was optional. I told them the option is for me to either fit it or not, not for them to supply or not. It arrived the next post. Edit, Turns out I did not need it but I had paid for it so wanted it.
Good show for you to call them down on the shim. It should be included with the Bridge body.
14.
My wife bought me this today.....an early Xmas present I wanted a Jazz Bass but wanted to see if i could get something a bit unusual and i think i may have achieved it. This is a Fame Deuce 4 which i believe are made by Mayones in Gdansk. It is an Alder body with maple neck and block inlays, Seymour Duncan pups and 22 frets! The colour is satin canary yellow nitrocellulose. I had a good play of it before i (she) bought it and i love it. The colour is definitely out of the norm and i doubt many people will know anything about Fame as a manufacturer. Anyway i hope it meets with the BC approval.
That's a nice one. Congrats man!
15.
I have just fitted one to my Epiphone Elite EB3. Came today from the Bass Centre, £99.00. Easy to fit and set up. Reason for doing it was that on the original the "d" saddle was too low meaning I had to higher the others to stop the d string buzzing. I tried making a new saddle from brass but never got it to fit snug enough in the bridge so causing a buzz. Also I was having to thread 4mm nuts on the strings to keep the ball end windings off the saddles. This bridge has solved all those problems.
That looks great!
16.
No it's only an MX 2014 made bass, has been gigged a handful of times and lives in a smoke free house. I really don't know but i really don't mind either
Oh that's cool. I'm just a bit surprised that's all. it's getting it's character for you.
17.
My Artic White MIM is starting to go a buttery colour which i never thought would happen with a modern poly finish. ☺
I know Olympic White goes a cream color over time. I didn't know about Arctic White doing that too. It's not from cigarette smoke, is it?
18. I'd just go with the Precision strung with D'Addario ETB92 Nylons onboard.
19.
Pearloid looks good. I have Artic White and Maple and i'm even considering a mirror scratchplate.
I like Olympic White, but I would love to have an Arctic White / Maple Am. Std. if ever offered. I had a Fender Standard Fretless Jazz a few years ago in Arctic White. It turned out to be the last Fretless Standard offered in Arctic White. I sold it, and was never able to get another one. The mirror PG may look pretty good on it. I'm just not into the mirror PG. I would possibly get an Arctic White / Maple, Fender Standard Jazz, one of these days. I have an empty Gig bag needing to have an occupant, and Arctic White is cool.
20.
I've got one of these beauties in chocolate brown. Fantastic bass, the playability is just incredible. I did have an issue with the neck pick-up rattling, but this was solved with some extra foam and a little card between the pick-up and cover. Anyway here's a pretty rubbish low-light picture I just took.
Nice, looking good.
21.
I had one of those back in 1971, they we're called EB-0s. That bass looks cool as hell. Blue
I had an EB-0 I bought in 1970. A nice bass I should've kept.
22. I'd say the Jazz. If you have a parts problem occur, Fender parts are all over the place also. More people work on Fenders as well.
23. I snagged a Gibson 2014 SG Spl. A nice bass, that plays great.
