1. I've been using these for years in the house and on gigs. You just need some 22mm pipe wrap to protect the bass. Once yo've got the height and width adjusted they are very stable. They pack up flat and are inexpensive.
2. If you're willing to have a go at fitting a bridge it's not too difficult. The hardest part is shaping the feet to the contour of the top, but I've developed a quick and easy method using Milliput. I recently bought a used Stentor with a poorly fitted warped bridge. I wanted to try a Full Circle on the bass and had various old bridges and feet already tapped with the correct thread. The feet I used required material to be added rather than removed. Hope the pics explain. And the bass sounds surprisingly good for it :-)
3. I've got one of these. It's one of the best sounding uprights I've owned (over 20) and it's easy to transport Great value for money
4. If you're in Bradford on Sunday eve you'd be welcome to sit in at my gig at City Vaults It'd be great to meet you and have a chat over a pint of yorkshire ale :-)
5. I've got a Shuttle 3 if ya want to try it Niel
6. Is there anyone in or around Harrogate with a CMD 121P who'd be kind enough to let me try it? Or if there are any up for sale or trade let me know. Cheers
7.
This is it (from Thomann) Wolf Super Endpin
These are great on a spike but i think the walking stick ferrule might be best for a thicker wooden end pin
8. Amazon have a million walking stick rubber ferrules Ive had some good quality Toolman and some inferior copies, usually in packs of four for about £3.50 posted
9. Just a quick update I took the full circle off & fitted a bassmax, big improvement I adapted a used bridge (ex dave Swift) with some Milliput to shape the feet (pics to follow) It sounds great with no feedback issues, don't need a preamp I re-bushed the end pin which has stopped the rattle Done 3 gigs so far on it, love the sound, my pianist thinks it sounds better than many expensive instruments and I agree And it's an easy carry Result :-)
10. 39" is about the average for half size See my thread http://basschat.co.uk/topic/213013-12-size-basses/

13.
Thanks Keith, I've PM'd today actually so we'll see if the neck is OK for my rather clublike fingers! Amazingly one of these in almost new condition sold on eBay last week for under £1000!
No! That was a bargain!
14. I would have snapped this up if the seller hadn't thinned the neck http://basschat.co.uk/topic/202706-beautiful-solid-wood-double-bass-for-sale/
15. Thanks for the loan Daf, will get it off to Peter soon.
16.
Keith do you still have the Ehrlund or is it back with Daf ?
I've spoken to Geoff , he'd really like to try it but feels he's too busy just now to do it justice. I'll double check with Daf but I'm sure it's ok to send it on to you. Please p.m. your address.
17. I've still got it, I was waiting to hear back from Geoff. I'll give him a ring.
