1. "The 2 cabs are the non-tweeter versions." - but I can seed tweeter level control and what looks like a tweeter behind the grill?
 2.
I've had a couple of Ashdown Superflys (Super and Superduper), and the EQ section is very impressive but utterly wasted on me. I then had a couple of EA iAmps (500 and 800) and didn't use the EQ on that to anything like its potential (fortunately the base tone was pretty much as I wanted it). Now I've got a Puma and I can cope with the EQ on that. However, I can see someone who has different tonal requirements to me finding a more detailed EQ very useful. Shame Ashdown discontinued the Superfly, although the power amp section was somewhat compromised, that preamp was nice.
I used a superfly when they first came out- they were provided as the back line at a industry gig we were doing. anyway the surprise of seeing an amp that small (this is before micro amps were popular) and the hammering of the eq buttons to try and make it fit are what I remember. that and putting my hand on it at the end and burning myself. Ashdown are a good example of trying about 2 new things every year in the lightweight market.
 3. lower that side of the pickup a smidge. and DR fat beams are good, but pricey
 4. I'm going to say... can this thread be pinned please mods?
 5. It's unlikely (I would have thought) that there is a problem with the cabs - the gain knob on the amp is designed to set the input volume into the eq and then the main volume knob controls the power amp level to the speakers. There are a few things that could be happening here. try a new lead- the lead is an active part of passive bass to amp - if it's damaged it might not show up with an active bass. do you have a pad of some kind on the preamp modual? turn the gain up. is it EQed differently? does selecting different pickups change it? it may be you're used to hearing a certain amount of mids which are scooped out on your bass. and how high are the pickups- raise them will give you less bass and more mids, as well as more signal... which might sort you out.
 6.
I can vouch for this combo as I bought it new a few years ago, traded it along with 9B ext cab when I wanted an all valve head & ended up trading valve head for my old PJB combo Funny how things go ... Anyway I sprayed it cream btw & think it looks great. I only sold it coz I needed the money (wedding costs etc) & was no longer in a band. I did keep the 9B cab tho ... Kev was great to deal with so buy with confidence & like he said you can remove the head & use with any cabs right down to 2 ohms (720w I believe) ... awesome amp that PJB still make & great customer service
it looks awesome that colour too! I keep coming back and looking at it.
 7.
Heh, got it in the spree of trying new things last year. The CN112 sounds better to me than the HD112 and pairs well with the Bergie IP112ER. At home, I wasn't enamoured of the CN112, but in the band context it was awesome with the SL 900. My GAS is spent, at least until I've tried out a fearless F112....lol I still can't quite part with my Acme B1 either. To many gigs on it over the last 4 years or so. The CN112 is what I needed though, same weight as the B1 but slightly bigger and definitely louder. I can only say a CN212 must be pretty amazing. I've played the Vanderkley 2 x 112MNT stack with my SL900, it sounded absolutely gorgeous. I was a bit 'meh' on a single 112MNT, but I never got it out to playing out live/with a band - at that point I preferred the Acme B2. On the whole, 2 12" drivers I think sound better than 1. But an Acme Fullrange 12", Baer ML112, Fearful 12/6/1, or fearless F112 cab could potentially prove me wrong. I tried the Barefaced BB2, really great cab, but in the end I liked the Berg IP112ER's voicing just a smidge better. I'm hoping for no more GAS this year. But last year was really educational.
sounds fun year - a bit like me at the moment - but I don't have the $$ to actually buy loads of things - bit harder trying to work out what to get (and how much to justify spending)
 8.
I used my CN112 with my Streamliner 900 tonight
is this another new cab you've got?
 9. it won't make as much as you want for it, and is worth more to you that it will get. Keep it, or wait 6 months then decide to sell.
 10.
31.5cm or just under 12 & 1/2 inches (without the front and back panel!)
ah ok not deep enough for me :v( cheers
 11. how deep is it? if its deep enough ill take it
 12. so preamp in bass - to preamp on floor - to preamp in front end of your amp.... that's a lot of preamps.
 13. depends on the gear - and when it comes to EQ the tone stack.
 14. you'd look a right fanny playing one
 15. remember - next time you write a wee article and get comments on it - don't feed the trolls!
 16. I was thinking of building a jack or two too, I didn't think the 15 was that much better than the 12 and would have probably tried to build the lite version. What a lot of users, and Bill himself, said is that they do need Eq to work well - and my preamp doesn't really have enough bands to do that.
 17.
Is his surname Rickenbacker?
I was wondering that - if the same copyright laws in the US that causes Rickenbacker to go after wee Tommy who was given his old uncles hondo means that Prince has to defend his stuff in this way. I also wonder after his bust up with his label how much of his back catalogue he actually owns? I've no idea at all but maybe he's not as loaded as he was, income isn't as high and he's needing to try and keep his pension fund? great artist, great back catalogue - you have to fight through a whole load of guff though to find the gems.
 18.
That's what the blue thing is. The original Bulgin socket was too worn to be of use. I could have replaced it with another Bulgin, but I'll be gigging this amp so it had to be something reliable. I nearly got a Speakon fitted as well, but settled for new jack sockets. The old ones were well worn.
and judging by your profile pic you split the input into 3 preamp ins?

 20.
The Piranha's are a bit louder than the Neo's from what I have read, although never tried the Neo's myself. It's the head that really makes this combo, stunning clean power and fantastic clarity. 700w with the right extensions, and can be popped right out of the combo if more convenient for big gigs.
it looks amazing
 21.
What, you mean the powerCON socket?
if that's what the blue thing is!
 22.
I agree.
hmmm am i right in thinking there's an odd-part-out in that photo?
 23. it will be written on the end of the neck if that helps. Late in the production though
