Would love to know your thoughts! I want to try an analogue filter sometime (currently use the C4) and been looking at diy versions of mutron and meatball
(and the mf101 schematic)
normally I would go octave, drive, comp, preamp, modulation, delay, reverb
With that much modulation reverb I would be tempted to try putting the comp after the octave
Future impact and A lot of source audio stuff, that you’ve spent a lot of time working with and helping out with - don’t sweat it too much - you’re invested in what you’ve got. Get a small board made up maybe, thenget a shelf and put on display?
If the church is so large you don't know the other bass players in the church I would expect they bring their own and you take yours with you (and let them use rig)
If your church is smaller you probably know the kid and know if you can trust him or her
Old band might have once had a sound files loaded up on an old iPod and plugged into FOH it only had the tracks we wanted loaded on- not hi tech but when you wanted it to play you hit the play button and things happened
New things have been accidentally bought, @jimbobothy showed me how the pros use dual lock, and I had enough patch cables…
tuner - oc10 - C4 - H9 - iron man - Omnicomp - L4 preamp - shallow water clone - Anadime - H9 - colourbox
New are the valeton oc10 which is just amazing (and was an accident buying)
and the H9max which can do so much and pushed the zoom ms70cdr off the board… lots of crossover with the C4 so we will see how that goes
I have been mucking around with a Zoom MS70cdr which is a cheap way to play around with it. Using it in a loop as it's simpler to bypass that way. But you can chain delays and reverb (and mods and filters and drives etc) together.
Then last week I picked up an Eventide H9 at a decent which sound wise is maybe only 10% better and can only do one effect at a time. I was actually quite shocked how close the Zoom gets tbh. If you're looking for a cheap way to start playing with Reverbs the zoom is really recommended. (and I would say that even if I going to be moving mine on!)
the shop didn't even do research to find out the value of a Wal. - do you think they had any idea about packaging and CITEs to send a bass internationally?!
In a country where house purchased can be gazumped I find little to be worked up about when a small shop takes local money and hand delivers vs international sale and everything that entails. Not great but life is too short to get that worked about it. It's just a bass!
