  1. Bass players are supposed to like octave right? but through the old zoom multifx I had I was always non plusesed, I liked it even less when I had a hx stomp… and my idea of a SA C4 synth pedal as the be all and end all of effects on my board came unstuck when I couldn’t get a oc2 sound I liked out of it. Don’t get me wrong, recorded and listening back it sounded great - but it felt wrong, it was something about the attack and maybe a slight latency that made things feel really staccato or something. which is fine, I don’t like octaves. I’m not mad on jazz basses either - but we are all different and like different things and that’s ok. then my friend @jimbobothy admits to being a pedal addict. Now maybe there is support groups for this but the nice thing is he’s let me try a ton of analogue octaves over the years from the first markbass raw I tried which seemed nicer than what I was getting with the C4 … and mxr vintage bass octave which I hated- but they sounded different to the digital versions… then unexpectedly won this on eBay - and it’s amazing, it sounds pretty much the same but I prefer it to the oc2 I’ve tried, it’s maybe more low mids focused, warm sounding, tracks to low D on a 5 string (!) and just lovely. and like an OC-2 - just not quite loud enough - so treating it like an oc2 I took the -2 pot off, and tied the output to ground [note if you try this the input is on the wiper, not the output like a oc2) and it’s awesome - mid point on the direct level is now unity, the -1 is louder and … well who ever uses -2 with bass anyway?! these things are mint!
  2. see
  3. you can set per preset if they should be on or off when scrolled too. check in the app
  4. The middle aisle of pedals. I bet it sounds almost identical - I think it would be as harder to design your own pedal with similar features than do a direct copy
  5. How much?

    sub bass

If that is your current cab I’m not sure @Bill Fitzmaurice would recomend. Also it’s -10dB at 35Hz

sooo good! I must admit I did scan through to see if you had the one I'm thinking of making next sushi box top left?
  8. and fixed the slight LED noise bug
  9. because some digital effects have dirty earths and/or effect each other to pull the switching noise above the audio band down into the audio band... which can then get into your audio signal
  10. You are right - I had a T40 not T45. Picking it up wasn’t fun, but once strapped on it was glorious. my main bass at the time was a Warwick in the 7lb range…
  11. I was thinking a wee 3 footswitch midi controller - giving you 5 on/off per patch, patch up and down and tuner - midi expression socket too
  12. This looks to have the longer screw thread https://northwestguitars.co.uk/products/dpdt-on-on-mini-toggle-guitar-switch-for-coil-tapping-phase-switching?currency=GBP&variant=44780380094738&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Google Shopping&stkn=adf9520837bc&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADh7zofznsnNpIJdudkhZ3nxj5_vP&gclid=Cj0KCQjwm5e5BhCWARIsANwm06iV5WmtJUOjqwklFny1tWscfKlrOxpmgtKIz3PZ3fDFy0JQhrxSqLUaAltrEALw_wcB
  13. Much of a muchness I think - if a cheap on lasts 5 years and the expensive one 7 it’s a quick enough fix - the main thing will be getting that longer thread yours has so check measurements- something like this maybe https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/362622196914?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=-ktJ_5BeSB-&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=g-S2GOEbSbm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  14. 2pole double throw on-on switch
  15. I think the graphic designer got sacked when Aguilar got bought out... I imagine Korg are giving the design to their work experience interns? 😶 What other reason is there for putting the drive control, light and footswitch at different corners of the pedal?!
  16. My old t45 was 14.5lb - so yours is a nice weight there
  17. Do they need to be isolated? Typically when the tuner is on it will be muting the signal too…? otherwise a gig rig isolator or the mooer version? an alternative would be to build a wee midi footswitch the size of thr space with 3 foot switches on for stomps tuner and two for whatever else you want … would still need isolated power…
  18. as someone who sometimes opens up pedals to fix.. is it fixable?!

though of course I would kinda be fun to get UV printing and do a small run... but of course it's also mad and a pain in the bottom - why would I even think of that?

I think I've just laid out a Prunes and Custard for a Gorva M45 with all top jacks! So that's just slightly wider than a 1590a size!! Also found having a batch of 10 screen printed isn't crazy expensive

Aion two kits and Musikding countless times... takes a week or so sometimes to put it in the post but it's good. (and a few days to reply to emails)

That’s cool project! Not really needing anything though myself - trying to slow down building things ‘just beacause’!
