  1. Wow! It does seem mental. Like do the people who can afford these actually have the time to geek out on audiophile sound?
  2. Would love this - but no JB to trade
  3. Reshelling not reselling
  4. No doubt compared to reselling and custom moulds - but could comparing it to a new set of Comply foam ear buds...
  5. you bought the overwater back after all that time you spent selling it?!
  6. the guy in the video was using this stuff - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Proguard-MYO-Mould-custom-earplugs/dp/B006ZLXQ68?th=1 which is being marketed as specific for the task - i'm not sure I would want to put non made for the task stuff in my ears! I'm weighing up if it's worth trying... do I buy some of that stuff or a set of complay (sp?) foam tips?
  7. Sold it ages back. Miss it. managed to get hold of a schematic and it's not the Neve or API preamp the marketing dept suggest it is. Does sound good though
  8. How did you rate the end results?
  9. So I use UE 900s - which are good - but I've used up all the foam tips and need to get more. First any recommendations, and secondly is this man on YouTube stupid or clever?
  10. I've used new tones before -nice equal to hibeams sunbeams, prefer fatbeams
  11. you're going to be pointed to look at... Line6 helix Zoom B3n when you remark at the price of the Helix a bundle of top end separate pedals for the folk that don't recommend the amp modelling route a sansamp someone will pop up telling you how good their Behringer DI is. It probably is. the IEM thread and probably some others.
  12. thanks dad
  13. I was going to make a really off topic comment about the kinda gig that folk on talkbass play backline wise bare no corralation to gigs I've played or been to, or heard about in the uk ... but then I saw the topic had already detoured off topic
  14. That's the 199 pound question isn't it? If it has a range of drive sounds that keeps folk happy then this box will sell like warm sweet bread-like products - if it has one overly baked in idea of what kinda tone it should be it won't work as well
  15. Is it bad that every time we drive south to visit my parents I tell my other half I want to visit there again?
  16. Think I need to keep my eyes open for a big twin! Is that the one with the 12 or 15 inch drivers?
  17. Life is short - just go for it!
  18. I believe the correct response in German to this is "Geil" i picked up a '81 L1000 last year and it became my main bass
  19. that's cos G&L pickups are crazy high output!
  20. Interesting test - on a passive bass see if your tone control reacts differently depending on if you're using the active or passive input on the amp
  21. That's a true statement but I don't think what Woodinblack was getting at.
  22. well thats the important detail covered then
  23. It's a big wide hairy Trace... I think the discussion you need to have with the other half is what is acceptable to keep in the house - something more modern and not as wide might work better
  24. I picked up a Mesa walkabout 1x12 combo - sounds alright but importantly it's got green tolex, brown leather corners and a sand coloured grill so it looks good - the wife doesn't even mind if it's left in the front room. Now if I sold that and replaced it with a hairy black cab and head I think she would - regardless of size. I had a GK 2x10 combo for a bit and that wasn't a looker at all!
  25. random Q - how much "worse" are the Zoom compressions than stand alone units?
