  1. I’m actually pretty tempted - the only thing that’s stopping me is that there are already several walkabout combos up for sale that don’t seem to be selling 😬
  2. These look good if anyone near is interested- if I were closer I would think about buying and selling one on... https://www.gumtree.com/p/speakers-monitors/rcf-hd32a-active-pa-speakers-pair-inc-covers-better-than-art-712a-etc-/1325504973
  3. Yeah. Been a while since I’ve been on a thread on here with a bit of a troll - reminded me hoe much I don’t like it. also - please for the love of all things good lets not have every thread knocking Barefaced. It gets boring. I find it depressing that as a bass playing community we will happily shell out lots to import various high end gear from the states - but for someone who’s home grown, who we’ve seen growing up so to speak and maybe know some of their flaws, we constantly keep knocking. Sure specific criticism like stevie was questioning the level of flat response etc, but less of the general negativity..... please
  4. That’s annoying
  5. The Fender precision bass wasn’t even the best precision type design Leo came up with - he perfected it with the L1000
  6. When my Mesa Walkabout went pop Mesa sent me to David Gaffrey (01924 267142) Based in Ossett. Not really anyone to compare too but he did a good job and seemed to know his stuff. You could also ask on the west yorkshire music sales and service facebook group for recommendations.
  7. Hence the headstock shape - evolution and survival of the fittest and all that
  8. We need one of your videos
  9. (The original stuff, these will have been built in a city of millions in China that I’ve never heard of and probably was a farm 50 years ago )
  10. All cos I mused on them being built in Airedale...
  11. If the barefaced fd800 is their take on a FRFR PA speaker... but with a low driver optimised for bass guitar - would the QSC or RCF offer much of an upgrade to be worth the switch? Edit: esp if we rule out the 15” RCF with the fancy hf driver
  12. I read this really interesting article a year or so ago that was talking about Joanna Newsom and Kate Bush and how more individual singing styles if you are a man, and you can be a musical genius with one (Eg Dylan) but with women with individual singing styles they will always be written about a quirky, odd etc
  13. Airedale then surely?
  14. This : drill the holes first then the rectangle
  15. Is wood bit with the two on it the neck blank? If so what is it? It looks amazing.
  16. It’s that thing where we think the more expensive thing is better. Even when it’s probably just different
  17. These cabs were discussed on here 9 years ago too...
  18. Hmmm so different amp, two of them or I resist this rig changing GAS...
  19. Common practice on eBay for items with lots of watchers when you run out of stock
  20. Quite a nice setup to have sat arround in retirement!
  21. No- Jameson used to go straight into the desk ...
  22. Seeing the Rob Allen Mouse is a somewhat specialist bass, and because you’ve stuck that picture there, how does it sound with the Ibanez?
  23. I think one odd thing is that people will waxlyrical about a bit of gear, but saying what they use it for is less mentioned - a once a month metal band is different to a cruise ship jazz band is different to a indie rock touring band is different to a ... and so on. If you were in a band where it was not that frequent but it was a very much enjoyed hobby to pull on the tight Lycra a play some great 80s rock classics you might justify the SVT and 810... whereas the wedding reception band probably want something quicker to load in and out
  24. Everyone posts positive reviews, goes out and buys the shiny new thing, post even more positive reviews - then there’s a lull and their for sale post has even more positive reviews “best amp I’ve ever played , but....”
  25. Situation I was in a few years ago we used a electronic kit - sounded amazing in FOH big odd to play with as the tiny latency, plus reflection off the back wall of the venue meant you couldn’t watch the drummer and needed it in the fold back - IEM would solve the problem which I guess is the point of this thread. also to the person who is about to say it must have been an old or low tech kit that was years ago as they don’t have latency now.... thanks, but I’ve preempted you!
