Really not understanding the resentment towards people owning expensive instruments. I figure if someone can afford something and they want it then why not.

I have a few uploaded. my reasoning is to see how I'm progressing and feedback from other people is also a bonus.

I would consider the Warwick thumb LTD that I just traded a 'high' end bass but in comparison to the likes of Fodera, Ritter, Wal etc the value is a fraction.

For me I would normally say price but Fenders quite often sell for a few grand and personally I would never really consider a Fender 'high end'. It's a very vague question that really is open to interpretation really.

Was doing the usual struggling to get to sleep last night and had this though. There are plenty of people on here with custom basses, some cheaper than many production models and some the price of a small hatchback. So what is it that makes a bass considered "high end". Is it price, construction, brand?

To be honest "just dead" describes exactly how I felt when I used Rotosound strings. I used them for an hour and they sounded more dull (read: awful) than the dead strings I had just replaced! Rotos get a lot of praise though!

Fieldy gave me the t shirt he was going to wear on stage when I saw them a while back. it's been framed since. also, he's about 5 foot 3 which surprised me.

Tried out a bass that another member set up for me in Glasgow Central train station once (when it was pretty busy) that's about as weird as if gets for me sadly

Bad one of these up until last year. Brilliant basses, especially considering the money. I do miss mine (and that real thin neck)

Bought a set of strings from Dan, arrived next day (before I had actually sent the money for them). great guy to deal with
