1. That's pretty sweet. Thanks for posting something I have never heard of. Quite made my day
 2.
Are you implying that we are not human, sir?
Well I'm not......... Seems like we have highjacked a very important thread Appologies to the human race!
 3.
There's hope for the human race yet
I wouldn't go that far, just for the bass playing community
 4.
Here's mine: I like to pluck the strings at a variety of different points between the "24th fret" and the bridge depending on the tone I want. Mine has been arranged so that the fingerboard, pickups and ramp are all level, giving me a uniform playing surface and thumb rest from the end of the neck to the end of the bridge pickup. If I need to "dig-in" I'll normally be plucking the strings between the bridge and the pickup anyway. Works for me on this bass.
Sorry, but I am going to have to say it....... you have wooden pickups, they will never work you know! Coat ready and on my way
 5. That is a superb example of customer service. Good on them!
 6.
I'm in a band called Big Tuna.I doubt if that gives any indication of the music we play.
Deep Sea Fishing Shanties?
 7. I really like a local band called 'Mouth on a Stick' Doesn't really say a lot for their style of music but they play the usual 70's stuff and sound really good. My all time favourite local band are called Abakus. Mixture of rock and pop classics with some unusual ones in their too. My band are called 'Rock Hopper' go figure!
 8.
I don't have contempt for audiences but I do for time wasting, lazy musos. Being dicked about raises the constant question as to whether one can be arsed with it all.
I feel your pain. Guitarist quit. Guitarist replaced. Singer quit. Rhythm section still going strong!
 9.
That would be a jazz festival..... with Van Morrison headlining the Saturday and Jools Holland the Sunday.
You got me all excited runs and hides ....
 10.
But that's 25k pot up in smoke. :-)
One hell of a party. Don't remember much though........
 11.
I agree with Bluejay. And would go further and say that as musicians we ourselves have forgotten how much work goes into just getting to a level where we're trotting out 'easy' numbers. They're only easy because we've practiced and worked at making them look and feel easy. To most of the audience what we do is magical and practically everyone I ever talk to about being in a band says "I wish I could play a musical instrument."
Plus several million on this!
 12. No. You didn't see me, right
 13.
Here you go. I found a roundabout way http://www.talkbass....z-n-me-651831/#
That looks very cool
 14.
im sorry but if that is a strat/tele cross then im the love child of cliff richard and sue barker
Hmmm I think needs to be forwarded to the news papers Oh I see it's NOT a cross between a..........
 15.
Not as good as http://www.ebay.co.u...=item336feccc55 It has added valvness.
Not quite enough switches on that one
 16.
You're still not safe!! The previous cover band was run by a totally inept "person". He owned the PA and carried it to gigs, got all the gigs and owned the website. He just couldn't play! He was awful and as we couldn't sack him, the whole band left and formed another cover band.
Oh dear, that's me finished then! My PA, my rehearsal space and my band.......... and I only play G, D and A
 17.
What I do is turn the bass up as loud as I can and play the fastest, muddiest sounding slap I can. Then I play Smoke on the Water, or seven nation army. Repeatedly.
Can I come along with you next time?
 18.
I wouldn't agree with this. Any significant relief will cause the string to 'choke' at points on the neck.
Just going by personal experience. My first fretless was set as you say and caused me grief. I put a little more relief into it and it plays sweet as anything.
 19. Pretty much the same. You will need to give the neck some extra relief but otherwise it's the same. (IMHO)
 20. My thoughts exactly.... Well, I actually asked my misses if we can afford it. Apparently not
 21.
Seller is open to offers
I did try, but apparently "@*&$ OFF" means no
 22. Have you seen that Norman is selling his bass on eBay at present? Here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NORMAN-WATT-ROYS-1962-PRE-CBS-FENDER-JAZZ-BASS-THE-BLOCKHEAD-SHORELINE-GOLD-/180819389316?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item2a19aceb84#ht_1114wt_689
 23. I just checked my bank account. Sadly I am around £9,900 short
 24. Welcome aboard! There are a few of us bass player bikers! Nice kit list How often do you gig having to cross a sea for some band members?
